View Full Version : Here are windows that need "WINDOW BOXES"
On another thread we had discussed -- window boxes. AND thanks to Shabbychick I printed out a link to make some (my husband :p )... SO here are the windows- or at least a shot of the front half of our home...1561
Last year we changed the drab brown shutters to the wedge wood blue slat shutters with black iron ware...
Full front of our home that I'm hoping to add white window boxes....1562
AND thanks to Shabbychick- she passed along a link to "This Old House" with plans to build Cottage style window boxes. Sweet!

You're welcome, Gigi! I think those windows of yours will look great with windowboxes. It'll really soften up the look.
Thanks Shabbychick- It's funny but living on the water- EVERYONE really dolls up the back of their homes were the water is- I really don't understand this theory- BUT I'd really LOVE to make this home more "Cottage-E" from the front...
I'm hoping window boxes will help...the link you gave me is great- hopefully we can start on this project in the next several weeks... :o :)

It will look great Carrie. It is weird- my parents live on a golf course so they do more on the back that fronts the golf holes..but then the front of the house that you drive by is so plain..

Must have something to do with it being the more "public" side of the house. and in that case the front would be the more "private" side of the house and therefore more for you. Sounds weird though. :p

The shutter look good. Definately need some window boxes. The folk who live with a view of the river and lake dress up the houses so they look pretty for the folk riding by in their boats. I like oohing an ahhing at the pretty houses from the river. I don't see why you couldn't do the front too.
