So I've been wanting to do a small furniture makeover and have been looking for some inexpensive furniture. Couldn't find anything worth the $$ so I looked around the house and I had this very old side table in my DD's room. It was in my room as a child and has been painted every color under the sun. This last effort was a stencil gone wrong.
So not wanting to spend a dime I used paint and ribbon I had around the house. The table is back in DD's room and goes quite well with her shabby chic style. Since I had the paint can opened I also did a side chair that was in the garage and covered it with some left over material.I forgot to take a before pic of the chair but the white one next to it was with the set.

Thanks Lisa. The chairs are a collection over time. I painted them originally white to go with a goodwill table find for DD to take to her college apartment. Well she moved apartments this year and the table and chairs didn't fit, so I've been storing them. Since they will go to her future apartment and she loves pink I decided to paint one pink to try it out.

These are beautiful. I love what you did with the side table. You're inspiring me to do a little something more with the Goodwill coffee table I painted white a couple of months ago. It's asking for a little something more. Do you use oil paint or acrylic?

Thanks Zuzu, Shabbychick and Lynzee.
I used regular old wall paint that I had left over in the garage. I believe they were all satin finish/latex. I will go over the top of the table with some poly just to protect it a bit.

those are really cute Annie! I love the stripes on the table, it adds nice contrast to the pink.
So creative! I love this "pretty in pink"!

WannaB and Gigi, thank you. I emailed my DD with the pictures last night and she loves them, *whew*. Now I guess I have to do the other chairs to complete the set.

Thank you Breezy. Now I'm looking around for something else to paint. I need Spring to get here so I can convert my energy into the yard, its looking pretty sad out there.

I just wanted to add my compliments regarding your lovely job! :)
It's amazing what some talent, paint and supplies can do!
I agree about itching to get outside...there's always so much yard work in Spring, plus I look forward to dragging some items outside to paint!

I know I'm late to the, um, table here-- but they really turned out nicely. That pink on the chair! Ah! Lovely.

Chaptertwo, thank you, yes paint can do wonders especially when one is short on talent.
