Hi gals! Just wanted to share my new LR curtains! I didn't take a before photo but just imagine dingy plastic blinds and you'll have it! The fabric is white with blue windowpane plaid with yellow flowers all over. It makes the room so much more cheerful! I also plan to get an over-the-washer/dryer shelf to make the space back there more useful!

WannaB you have been busy on that sewing machine!! Those really cheer up the room.

I also wish I had a laundry room. I've seen some fun ones. My washer and dryer are tucked in the ugly ol' garage. That may be a future project of mine to make that space more pleasing to the eye.

Curtains really make a big difference in a room, don't they? These are sweet! I'd love to have a real laundry room. I have so many ideas I've gathered over the years for decorating a laundry room and making it user-friendly. My washer and dryer, however, are in a little closet off my kitchen, so there's not much decorating going on. Have fun with yours!

Thanks for all the compliments ladies! I am very lucky to have a large laundry room. It was already painted yellow and DH didn't like it but I love it!

The curtains are lovely! And I love the color!

My laundry "room" is a huge closet in the kitchen that hasn't even been painted inside. I really need to do something about that!

WannaB - the curtains are so pretty and very cottagey.

Laundry can be such a chore that I think it is important to decorate whatever space you use for laundry. even a shelf with pretty canisters to store things can brighten it up!!

uhhhh . . . what's up with the comment above???

Don't they crack you up?! Spam is like someone walking into a conversation and making a comment that has nothing to do with the current topic. I roll my eyes at the stupidity  but they do amuse me.

I agree with you about decorating the space where you do laundry. I've got a tiny little picture in the laundry cubby off my kitchen. There was already a not-that-cute wire shelf in there, and I'm still trying to figure out how to store things up there without it looking ugly. I stuck magnets to the fronts of my washer and dryer (which I bought used for about $400 when I moved in) but the space itself is calling out for paint or something. I hope someday to have a real laundry room, but that's a ways down the road in this economy, I'm afraid. Luckily, the cubby has bi-fold doors that not only hide the mess, but also really cut down on the noise of the washer and dryer.

How great that must be, to have your laundry right near your kitchen! I've always longed for that; my friend had a similar setup to yours, with the bi-fold doors. I have to schlepp the laundry from the second floor down to the basement and then back up again, once it's clean. Oh, well - I'm not complaining; it beats going to the laundromat!

What about baskets for storage up above?

I love the bright yellow of your laundry room. Yellow is one of my favorite colors. Your room is lovely and it must make you feel happy to be in there:)

Really cute curtains! I, too, wish I had a real laundry room. Mine is in the dark basement, cement walls, can't even hang shelves.
