I second the motion that it should be 'The Law' that we each post a picture every week. :p But, sometimes we don't have one of our own pics handy to share so this thread is a place to post a picture of a favorite room or decorating idea from other sources (so long as we remember to post the source too).

I love this room...

Zuzu, that picture is gorgeous as is her entire blog. Will have to bookmark that one. Blogs are becoming my new magazine replacement indulgence.
I really enjoy looking at the european gals blogs, they have such an eye for using white. The blog I frequent is called Modern Country and her style is very similar.
Thank you for sharing.

Zuzu- Thanks for sharing this picture and great post to start too! I love the way the cabinet is made to open up to the TV---simple and elegant.

I love her mix of handmade and timeworn elegant pieces. This room is very inviting to me, open and full of light. The quilts and rumply pillows make the room comfy - the kind of place you could come into for the very first time and feel right at home. :)

I can't wait to see the next picture! What do you like?

WOW......that room is gorgeous! I love the planked ceiling!

Here is a bathroom-remodel inspiration photo from a model home at Seabrook, which is a cottage community/vacation "town" near my city.

Can you believe this is a NEW house?! LOVE the hex tile floors, pedestal sinks, & latched craftsman-style cabinet!

(I have some more bathroom pics from the same home on my blog (link below)....I couldn't get them to show up on here for some reason....)

If and when I ever remodel my kitchen I've been thinking of a black and white checkered floor. These are some pics I've saved, sorry I'm not sure of the sources.

P.S. Nikki- love your photos---boy has this family been there (demo)--it's a family thing- we all do this- and love doing it.

Wow! Great pics!!!

Nikki - That latched cabinet pic is exactly what I've been looking for. Hubby made a simple frame around an old mirror for our bathroom, but the mirror is too small. I suggested that we build a cabinet frame & use what he already made for the door. I've made a copy of your picture to show Hubby. :D OH - and tell us how you were able to just post that pic into the forum - I don't know how to do that.

annielinz & Gigi - Love the B&W floors. I'm looking around the Tiny House as I type and I'm thinking that would look awesome!!!

I usually use Photobucket. For some reason I couldn't get the pics to link from my blog, but they work fine from Photobucket. If you have an account there, all you need to do is click the "IMG Code" spot under the photo and paste it here. Hopefully that will work...

And guess what?! That medicine cabinet is from Lowe's and its only $89! I know because I bought the exact same one last weekend! I think they might be discontinuing them, so check your store:

http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=184310-50182-MC11WWDI&lpage=none

We also toyed with making one ourselves, but decided against it after buying it for such a cheap price. We have plenty of other stuff to waste our time on in this remodel :p

Gigi & Annielinz- love the floors in your pics! I would love to do that in my kitchen. Such a classic look!

Nikki ~ Have you been to Seabrook? It's on my list of places to go. I want to check out their sister property called Olivia Beach.

The sinks in the bathroom you posted are the one I have in my bathroom.

Love the black and white floor. It looks so sharp and timeless.

Yeah, several times actually....I live pretty close by :D

It's our favorite place to go and stroll around and steal ideas for the outside decor of our two houses. If you do get a chance to visit, go check out the model home if it is open. That's what the bathroom pic is from. The whole house is gorgeous, actually....planked ceilings, french & pocket doors, wood casement windows, reclaimed fir floors....*drool*

I want to check out Olivia Beach, too....and there is another one called Bella Beach, it's near Lincoln City I believe.

Heres a few more I found that I had saved.

Ones a little cottage amongst the trees, a perfect getaway.

The other is a pink kitchen Chyna would like.

That pink stove makes my mouth water! The first house in the woods looks like it could be in my yard. That is if I have 20 full time gardeners. :)

Lisa - just get yourself a few dwarfs to handle the yard work!

Danske, I have bookmarked moderncountry - yet another Nordic blog! Although this is not the look in my home (yet?), it is the look I love most!

Funny thing. I've been visiting Nordic blogs for several years, and my daughter has recently told me that she may be moving to Norway. I don't want her to move :(, but if she could be my "buyer" at Butik Sophie (http://www.butiksophie.dk/start2.htm) that might ease the pain a little. ;)

OK, here's another one. This is the badrum (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_d0vByWRfhvU/R-jkFXdTOKI/AAAAAAAAAq4/2K8w_SKR8Bo/s1600-h/philippa+och+badrum+003.JPG)(bathroom) from the blog Min Lilla Veranda
(http://www.minlillaveranda.blogspot.com/)

Scrumptious!

Great pics Annielinz!

Zu-Would your daughter mind a shopping list from a stranger?:) But on the other hand, a wish list is just as good if that keeps her on this side of the waters!!!

The blogs I love to look at also seem to incorporate a lot of zinc pieces in their homes. I'm using a few pieces I've picked up in my little antique space as price tags. I love how they use the hard (zinc) with lots of soft (lace & candles)...dreamy...

Annielinz- I LOVE both pictures---little cottage would be soooo charming to visit- and a pink kitchen- reminds me of my grandmother salon- pink and lavender-so beautiful!

Wow pink stoves and fridges. That may be a bit too much for us but they sure are pretty.

Norway huh? My great-great-uncle still lives in Norway, someday I may go and see where my family roots are from. When I think of Norway I think of dark and dreary, would be nice to see if that is really true. :D

Danske wroteI love how they use the hard (zinc) with lots of soft (lace & candles)...dreamy...

Dreamy! Perfect word to describe the look!

My daughter sent pics when she was in Norway over Christmas, and it was sunny and gorgeous, but I guess there are plenty of gray days. From what I've read, that is why they decorate their home interiors in light colors. I'd rather have a long wish-list than have my daughter move there, but I raised my kids to follow their dreams, and that is exactly what they are doing.

I saw a pink refrigerator in a magazine shoot of Magnolia Pearl's kitchen and fell in love with it. Who knows, maybe pink will be the next appliance color?

Zuzu ~ love the ceiling and large windows in the room ~ they make it so light and airy.

OH, Zuzu, I just love the Nordic look too. I didn't know that's what it was called and have just been calling it "Swedish Style", hehe. My favorite blog is this one (http://jennyshemochharmoni.blogg.se/).....beautiful! I loved the other ones mentioned here, too. Mmmmm!!!!

That pink and white kitchen is so sweet and dreamy!

Lisa & Nikki,

We were staying at the coast in January for razor clamming. We took a side trip to Seabrook. Nice houses.....but we did not have a chance to go in any of them.

Is Olivia Beach in Oregon?

Wow, Kim, yet another beautiful blog! Thanks - I've bookmarked it. :) Her style is more like mine (or my style is more like hers?) - whites and creams w/ dark woods and pops of color. The thing that really stands out in her blog is her unique and gorgeous floral arrangements (http://jennyshemochharmoni.blogg.se/images/2009/img_1675-copy_31200723.jpg)!

I don't know what this style is officially called. I call it the Nordic look, but I've also heard it called Swedish Style. Whatever it is called, it is beautiful. If I were asked to describe a romantic home, this would be the look. Soft, dreamy, uncluttered, and comfortable.

Zuzu, I go to Jenni's blog when I just want to "get away". Oh, how I love her style! I just wish I could read her site. I've tried to run it through online translators and it doesn't quite work out...the English translation is still jumbled.

But the photos alone are inspiration enough!
