I found some vintage cup towels and thought they would be cute in my daughter's house. I gave them to her, but she didn't use them so I decided to make them into a valance for my kitchen window. I think they turned out cute. A couple of days ago I bought two old windows with the panes intact. As soon as I can clean them up a bit I will put family pictures in them and hang them in my hallway. The hall is rather long has been screaming for something to be hung there. I'll post pictures when I get them done.

I love those, Koolmimi! What a great find. Those type towels are usually so expensive when I find them. They look very cottagey and old fashioned above your windows!

I have several old windows like you mentioned. I have been meaning to put picutures in mine, too, and just haven't started the project. I'll be looking forward to seeing yours!

What a nice look! I have some chicken towels I want to turn into curtains at some point, too. I love the whole look of your window and the backsplash. Very nice!

What a great idea for using vintage linens! I love the grater, too! I have a couple old ones I put out this time of year with a votive inside.

If you ever watch The 70's Show, pay attention to the island/peninsula in the kitchen. There is a row of graters hanging above it being used as lights! I guess you would call these a precurser to the pendent lights we have now!

I'll have to check out the show. I like votive candles in them.
