View Full Version : I just left my heart in SF

Well, mainly because we said good-bye to our son and won't see him again for about 6 weeks when he's finally home for good (temporarily working in that area.) Three fun filled days, one day in the Napa Valley and the rest in SF. I love the Ferry Terminal, about all we could afford was a cup of coffee and that's because we wanted to sit down for a minute...saw things I sure don't see up here in our little country village! But the most wonderful/amazing/slightly offbeat store was http://www.bellocchio.com/....their web site doesn't come close to how the store is set up. It is on an off side street so you kind of have to know it is there (I saw a little snippet of an article about the store in a magazine a few years back.) I loved how they displayed their wares, very sleek and modern with a bohemian French twist. If anyone lives in that area and you haven't checked them out I would make it a point! Again, very expensive but they also have a mix of under $5 items too, wonderful little paper tags, stationary and such!

Have not been to SF but could move to San Diego in a heartbeat. Maybe we all should post a few of our favorite cities and if you have a favorite shop, restaurant or place to go in that city - post it!
My favorites - New York (ABC Carpets and a button shop that I can't remember the name of now, but will find it at home)
New Orleans area (north side of Lake Ponchatrain - very historic and lots of wonderful "junking")
Akumal Mexico - quiet, quaint and peaceful with many great, inexpensive restaurants.

Glad you enjoyed the site! I noticed I added a few extra letters in my link:) I bought a bolt of black & white string (not like Martha's but thicker stuff she (store lady) brings back from France.) Anyway, I've been using it with my pink bakery boxes that I purchased not too long ago from a bakery going out of business. Makes a simple gift box - for cakes/cookies or just stuff!

Does anyone else agree that the type of some of the posts above, which are sometimes nonsensical and contain links having nothing to do with the thread (Read: Advertising), should be deleted as spam?
I also see that one of the spammers has done a fine job of filling our other pages. :-(

I agree 100%. They are only posting because they want to have a place to put a link to advertise. I think anyone with a link such as those, should be deleted, just as you suggested.

They are continually responding to each and every email. Is there a way to bann them?

I agree. Spammers are sneaky to say the least.

Sorry. I would have banned the spammers earlier today, but I'm on vacation and don't get to a wi-fi place till I check into my hotel at night. I just banned a bunch of them. For the record, I ban anyone who is new who posts a link to anything that is not related to the topic under discussion, even if it's just in their signature line. I'll try to check again in the morning and clear out anything I see, but if I can't do it tomorrow morning, I'll do it tomorrow night.

Oh, shabby, didn't realize you were in charge of deleting the spam...must have happened during my hiatus! ;)
Wherever you are, enjoy your vacation and don't worry about the spammers. Unfortunately, they'll be here when you return!

That's okay, Chapter Two. I take my computer wherever I go and try to always make reservations at places with wi-fi so I can keep up with my e-mail and read the news. It's simple to ban the spammers once I get online. I just took care of a couple this morning, too. It seems to come in waves around here. It gives me great pleasure to push the "delete posts as spam" button. :)
