Has anyone else got their latest issue? We're mentioned in the editor's thoughts part. Not specifically but we at least would know who was who for projects etc. :) I didn't get very far into the articles, going to try to read it at lunch today and gobble up some info.
Anyhow maybe we'll get more new people in here because of it. :D

Chyna, how cool is that!
I still haven't been able to locate the magazine . May have to hit Barnes and Noble or Borders to find it.
I'll be picking up the magazine as soon as I spot it. ;)

That's great!
I haven't been able to hunt down the issue yet....the only place near me that stocks it is Wal-Mart.....and last time I checked it looked like a hurricane hit the magazine rack, people go thru the magazines and just put them back anywhere they want
C&B was probably hiding behind a copy of "Buck Hunter Monthly" of something :p

LOL:p Don't know about your Wal-mart but I don't think the people who stock the magazines give a hoot either. I'm always finding doubled up magazines sharing a space. Like anyone would be able to find anything when they do that.
I'm not sure but I think our Lisa has a letter published in there too. If so then it is even that more exciting! :)

I read my copy of C&B the day it arrived. I enjoyed the Award-Winning Additions article (love that lavender door!) and the Picture Perfect article. Light and airy interiors appeal to me much more than other looks. I love French doors. I wish the HOA at my condo complex would allow us to replace our sliders with them. Those two sisters have an amazing house and a beautiful yard!
The rest of the magazine was okay, but I'm afraid I'm just not ever going to be able to get into the Arts & Crafts look or the Mission look. I'll go ahead and give it a year, though, and see if overall it ends up being something I want to continue subscribing to. I did buy myself a copy of Coastal Living while I was at the store, and that momentarily satisfied my craving for the Cottage Living look. I'd subscribe but now I'm almost afraid to subscribe to anything for fear it'll stop publishing. My subscription card seems to be the kiss of death for magazines. :)

I'm still trying to find the spring issue.
shabbychick one of the reasons I like C&B is because they include bungalows and not just cottages. I love em both. :)

I finally found the magazine, bought it, was so excited and then realized its not the spring issue:(.
So at least I know the corner drug store carries it. I think the newest issue you all are referring to will be out in the stores after the 17th of March.
My take is similar to shabbychicks. There were a few articles and pics that were nice but, its still geared more towards bungalows in my opinion. And altho I do appreciate the style its just not my decorating taste.

Although not all of the magazine is my style, I will say that at least its something that my boyfriend and I can both read. He's into the more rustic bungalow style with all of the stained woodwork, and I'm more into white painted woodwork and cottage-y decor.
I can't wait to check out this new issue, if I can ever locate it!

And it is less expensive than say American Bungalow. ;):D

I love the authentic bungalow style. ...And cottage, 50's retro, Victorian, modern... I need a house in every city and in every style.
I'm still looking for the magazine in every corner of every store... I think I'll just order it in the mail ;)

I bought the new April/May issue of Cottages and Bungalows issue last week. I have all of the C&B issues except the first one, and I think that this Spring issue one of the best! I've noticed that C&B makes it to the newsstand a little later than other magazines, so don't give up. It's best to find it at the larger bookstores. I usually go to Barnes & Noble or Borders. Wal*Mart appears to be hit or miss.
One of the cover headlines invites readers to join the online community, so expect new posters (like me) to sign up!
The current issue is a little more cottage-y than bungalow-y. Lots and LOTS of natural light.

Thanks! I live in an apartment and my life is kinda fluid right now, but someday I'd like to live in a cottage. What really sucked me in to C&B was the original article on Storybook Style. I like to think that I buy C&B as a protest against the new tract homes and McMansions. They are so painfully hard to look at, that trailer parks look inviting in comparison.
Finally found this spring issue...
Here's a picture of the cover if you're browsing~ it's terrific!

P.S. Rubyslippers~ They have a page on some very cottage shutters--it appears with be shutters with some stain glass inserted ;)

I'm glad you like our shutters. It's one of our Arts and Crafts designs that uses Motawi tile. We also offer shutters with panels of glass and porcelain tile in stained glass patterns. See www.shutterstile.com for more information and other designs.
