I am a 42 year old SAHW. My children are now grown(although not out of the house until they graduate college and find jobs.) My youngest turned 18 on March 1st. Since I have been homeschooling for the last 15 years I am now ready to do some things I enjoy. My main passion is my 1903 bungalow. We bought it 1 1/2 years ago and are trying to fix it up how we want it. We plan to retire in this house and it will be the perfect size once ours sons move out. We did some major work last year (roof, built a garage, put in a driveway, new heating and cooling system, removed two huge dying trees, replaced the sewer line, waterproofed the basement and painted almost every room). This year we plan to work on the outside of the house. With all the construction our yard is a mess and I am not a gardener. So I am really looking forward to getting advice from others working on similar projects!

Good to meet you Josephine!

Is SAHW stay at home wife? I had to google it and that is what I came up with.

Look forward to hearing more from you.

Evelyn (wishing I was a SAHW)

Hi Josephine~I am also a SAHW. I homeschooled both of our daughters K-12. They have both graduated from college, but are still in the house:).

It sounds as if you have been very busy!

Thank you all for the welcome! Yes, SAHW is stay at home wife. We have been very busy renovating the house this past year. Unfortunately three months after we moved into our house my Dad and Sister were killed by a drunk driver. We used the inheritance to do some major work on the house. They were both so happy with us buying our house after 10 years of renting so we felt they would have liked how we used the money. It also gave me something positive to concentrate on while we were working our way through grief and the court system. The rest of our renovation will be at a slower pace as we can afford it.

Welcome and bring on the pics. I love old houses, mine is supposedly built in 1930 but I'm not convinced. Since you've painted all your rooms we can pick your brain about painting solutions. :)
