Isn't this adorable? If you cleaned it up, painted, and got rid of the massive clutter I think it would be the cutest little cottage. The first photo shows the back of the house, with a tiny deck, and with some pruning and landscaping the front could be just as pretty.
I think it's crying out for some vintage appliances, don't you? Ditch that '70s oven thing, lose the dishwasher. I love the little mud room/sun room on the back of the kitchen, which leads out to the small deck. There's no dining room so I guess you have to eat in the kitchen. There appears to be a smaller outbuilding that looks like maybe a one-room guest cottage.
Sigh... maybe I could convince DH we'd use a vacation home. Polson, Montana, in the summer is awesome.
So, if it was YOUR cottage, what would you do? I love hearing others' ideas for colors, landscaping, etc.

The price is sure right! The outbuildings are...interesting. And they're pretty far out there, aren't they? It's really a cute little house. I love the front porch. What a fun place to sit outside and have a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the afternoon. I like blues throughout, but of course, I'd probably repaint them all yellow inside and out. But what a cheerful, light little house. I'd definitely want to put in a fireplace. I don't think I saw one in the picture. A little gas fireplace would probably warm that whole place right up in the winter.

Very cute....love the kitchen, but with a new paint job and get rid of the wall paper. Put it on the ocean, I'll take it.:D

How darling. I like the idea of adding a fireplace. I guess I'm just a fireplace addict. ;)

I'm a fireplace addict, too. When I was looking for a place to buy, I said I'd never again live in a home without a fireplace. I love the look and the feel of a fire whenever I can have one.

I absolutely love our gas ventless fireplace in the family room. If I had the money I would put one in the living room. Some day maybe.

Very cute house. Those outbuildings look like garages to me.

Wow, why so cheap?
Well this is fun!
What a charming cottage! Love the shutters- and lots of other things too.
I'd probably "white" out the inside- and add pops of colors here and there...

It would be interesting to see what else is around that house. Is it in a neighborhood with other cute houses? I suppose having only one bathroom kind of reduces its price since most people are looking for more than one bath and more than two bedrooms. It does say in the ad that it needs some TLC, so who knows what that really means. Maybe it needs some expensive repairs. I noticed there were no pictures of the bathroom.

It is adorable. I would paint it a bright sunny yellow and paint the shutters, door and trim, red. Strip off the wallpaper, add crown moulding, and put my 1950 wedgewood stove in the kitchen and I am ready to go:D

I didn't really notice how much property came with this little house, but in the small town I live near, this house is definitely overpriced. More in the $50,000-$60,000 dollar range--maybe less depending on the age or condition. Of course, if the outbuildings are very nice, it would be more. But the house alone, on a lot, would be somewhere around $50,000.

It's fun reading all your ideas! If you click on the Google map link on the real estate listing, you'll see that while it's not on the water, it's just a stone's throw from the Flathead River, which is the outlet for huge Flathead Lake. Polson is a resort town and the real estate is high. There's a house a block away right on the river that's listed at over a million dollars.
I think the blue & white outside is pretty but yellow is my favorite color too and that would look great. Maybe yellow for the living room and kitchen, with 1930s farmhouse accents. Even though the back deck is small, it's bigger than the front porch, which hardly looks big enough to turn around on. And it's even got a white picket fence!
A fireplace would be great. We love our gas one in our living room. I'm not sure this house has natural gas, though. I think mostly I want to fix up that kitchen. The clutter just about makes me want to cry.

The real estate on the western part of the state are generally higher than the eastern side. In my area or even in Billings it would be less. I do love the Glacier area, we did a mountainman rendezvous outside of the park and it was just amazing. Don't think I'd want to live in Missoula though, my aunt/uncle live there and like it but it isn't my cup of tea. Kalispel would be nice though.:)
