Gee Hilary if I'd known I would have snagged one of my daughter's cupcakes for you and left it for you at the front desk. :) Not sure how that would go over thru airport security though. :D So you are 3 days before my dd. Sweet!:)

I'm sending an imaginary bouquet to Hillary, on her special day!
Thank you for making C & B such an inspiring magazine (The April issue is amazing!), and for creating a virtual cottage here online, for a special group of ladies.
I wish you wonderful things, today and always...
OH! Just saw that it's cheapdiva's b'day as well...Happy, Happy Birthday to you, too! :D

Thanks for all your wishes! My husband and I were out last night at a panel discussion (boy, do I know how to celebrate?!) and came home to a message that a dear friend died yesterday. It's like my oldest son's birthday - which is 9/11. A double whammy - you have cause to celebrate but it will also always be an anniversary that isn't for rejoicing.
My friend was an incredibly beautiful, brilliant, funny woman. Few people live as large as she did, she had a spirit of wonder and a willingness to try anything. So on future birthdays I hope to honor her memory. And I think we should all try to live like she did.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your wonderful friend...but what you wrote above, says it all - at least she really LIVED in the time she had! It's better that way than to live to 112 and sit in a corner the entire life!
And yes, just like with your son's birthday, there will be mixed feelings on your birthday now too. My heart goes out to you and to your friend's family...
