I saw the May issue at our Lowe's and looked through it but didn't buy it. :( I hate to sound like a broken record, but it was way too cottage-y for me and not enough bungalow-y. LOL, does that make sense? I noticed this last year too -- in the warmer months, everything shown is white and cottage-style, and often on the water, with some kind of beach theme. NOT for me!

The only real bungalow article I saw was about fences, which IMHO wasn't very interesting. Sorry.

Have you looked into American Bungalow? I know that Barnes and Noble carries it and bet Borders has it too. They have a forum too, they are very helpful in there. There is one guy from the WY/CO border who talks about who to send your door dip stripping to and a guy in Salt Lake City. He gave me ideas on how to repair my plaster walls and a link for the specialty screws for it. Don't bother asking Lowes/Home Depot/Ace hardware in Billings. They have no idea what you are talking about and just tell you to rip it down and put in sheet rock.

Yes, I like American Bungalow a lot except that the magazine seems to think we all have a million dollars to spend on our house, or a thousand dollars to spend for a lamp. There's another magazine I've seen at Barnes & Noble called, I think, Arts & Crafts Homes, that is nice, too.

I think a good buy for the money is This Old House Journal, I subscribe to the Interiors version and it is pretty enlightening and at times great eye candy. But also pretty helpful. The regular version is a bit too dry of reading for me but the Old House Interiors. I enjoy alot.:)
