It is 6 in the morning and already 68 degrees, so I have my windows open. I love hearing the birds sing. We have a morning dove I can hear outside, and another bird that has a distinct song. Unfortunately, the farmers must of spead something on the fields yesterday....because something stinks in the air like chemicals, almost enough for me to want to shut the house up.
I did get 2 patche of grass planted this weekend....but that is as far as I got. So much to do and not enough time.

Like you, Marie, I love having my windows open! What I can hear this morning are roosters crowing~same as everymorning:D. I can hear a few songbirds when I really listen!
Like you, I hate it when farmer spread that stuff on the pastures. They use a lot of chicken manure here--yuck. I'm glad I live in the National Forest area, so no pastures too close, but driving by them makes it hard to breathe! We've had quite a bit of smoke lately, though, as they're doing a lot of burns. It's best for the forest, but stinky!
We are going to have a rainy week, so I don't think I'll get much done outside until next week.

That makes 3 of us who like to keep the windows open. Had the bedrm windows open last night and the cool breeze felt so nice.
Had rain during the night and some this morning so it smells very "woodsy" on the porch. Days like this seem so quiet and peaceful. I love to hear the birds sing.

I wish we could keep the windows open but DH and I both have terrible allergies, and we aren't supposed to let the pollen in.

It's cloudy and cool here today, so I'm cleaning out the kitchen cabinets. When the sun comes back I'll have no reason to stay inside!

it's in the low 60's here today and the sun is struggling to come out. We had so much rain the last two days - people are building arcs! But it is suppose to drop back into the 40's the next few days.
I hate the "what to wear" issue this time of year - winter clothes or summer?
I adore waking up in the morning at our beach house on the East coast--the birds sing soooo loud at dawn--who needs an alarm clock!

One morning recently- but before we extended our dock...my oldest granddaughter giving the birds a welcome morning feeding...

We have the worlds biggest magnolia tree just outside my kitchen window and it's in full bloom, the bees are busy on our apple, pear, plum trees, and the perennials have been weeded and annuals planted in between. I'm so busy (and happy) outside this time of year! My dh even built us an outside bathroom (complete with hot water, electricity and cable tv for some reason) so we don't have to come inside!
Wow airsides! That sounds amazing--- all the comforts of "home" outside- I'd never go in either.

WISH we could have the doors/windows open! We do have them open early in the morning or late at night IF it is cool out. Rest of time it is A/C

An outdoor bathroom with cable! That gave me a great chuckle for the morning. I'd take the cable if my husband made an outdoor bathroom. How cool!

OMGoodness, I wish I could hear the birds sing today.....It is raining and chilly, and all I hear today is crying babies and fighting preschoolers......yesterday we were outside for 2 hours. Hope the sun shines tomorrow for us.
My mom has a huge old magnolia tree. She loves it, but says she is not sure the mess is worth the few days it is in bloom. It is beautiful too. I am ready to plant flowers, but still a little early for us. We use the rule "Mother's Day" is safe to start planting.

Yeah, I agree with you on the magnolia mess but oh well!
Back to my outside bathroom... I painted it cobalt blue and orange and "decorated" it like a Mexican bar - crap all over the place, felt pens so people can sign the walls, and tacky patio string lights hung here and there. It is totally NOT like our house but I thought because it was way outside it could be different... it's a big hit in the summer when we have parties!

I had to chuckle at your description of your outside bathroom having crap all over the place.:p
I do love the idea of having a bath tub outside. I must be one of those exhibitionist type of people:o, one of my fave things about rendezvous recreations is taking a shower outside with the trees above your head and the gentle breeze coming thru the tent material. It is soooo incredibly restful. walking thru the dirt in clean damp feet however tends to wreck the moment. :( In one of my many magazines there was an article about some people who put their bath tub outside on a deck overlooking some hillside/mountains, it looked so wonderful to me. Of course these people lived down South somewhere, that wouldn't really work around here unless you are ok with a frozen pond on your deck.

Chyna,
I know which tub picture you're talking about. I clipped it for my idea folder for the lake house. I was just looking at it the other day. I was admiring the log railing.

Lisa and Chyna--if you haven't read Bailey White's Mama Makes Up Her Mind, you'd love the chapter where Mama finally got her bathtub--out on the back porch:). I couldn't help but think it's what would happen to me if I took a bath out on the porch:o.

HA HA! Although our backyard is private and spacious enough for an outside tub, we are at the end of a runway and the airplanes fly quite low......
