Hey ladies,
While I was blogging away and spending way too much time reading other's blogs I ran across this fun little test. It determines what kind of decorating style you have...Why not take it and see if you are really what you thought you were.
Enjoy

Did you ladies agree wtih your results?
I got Mountain Lodge 86%, Arts and Crafts 14%
I'm not sure how I got into the Arts and Crafts part~I do like it, just not the way I decorate.
I'm wondering if it's because my house is decorated in lots of wood and darker colors? I fought against the 'dark' look for so many years, but I guess I've finally started to 'bloom where I'm planted':p!

I think that's me for sure!!
Rustic Revival
You can take kid out of the country but you can't take the country out of the kid... or is your theme "you can take the kid out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the kid?".
Either way you play it, you are one of the unique individuals who loves a mix of modern and country. The clean lines of the modern softened by rustic/vintage elements is the perfect mix in your mind. And can we blame you? You've taken the best aspects of two popular designs and mixed them in a manner that appeals to young and old alike. A subtle background of white or light colors provides a nice canvas for all the wonderful flea market, eBay, or garage sale finds as well as the classic modern pieces that you love.

Hmm...mine said I was 100% Rustic Revival...i'm gonna take it again...I wonder if they show different pictures?
LOL! this is what it said the second time around:
"Hmm, that's odd
We couldn't identify your style based on the quiz results. Would you mind taking it again? Sorry, but we just want to be sure...
Take the quiz again >"
Ha! It figures. Anyway, I thought they were 'dead on' with the Rustic Revival the first time I took it!

I came out with 44% Nantucket, 44% French Eclectic, and 12% traditional country. Interesting results. This may have something to do with the fact that I can never make up my mind. :)

My results said I was 100% Classic. I actually lean heavily towards Country, and I guess "Flea Market Finery" isn't one of the choices...;)

okay gals -
I picked up some sample size paint from HD. Thought I wanted a pink living room but this may be too much - what do you think? I have never been a big fan or blue but think maybe I should consider it.
Here are the fabrics that I will be using to recover chair seats and pillows.
Too much pink? What would the trim be? Your colors are fabulous in your fabric....it sure would be Nantucket ;) style!
I think adding a "color" to walls is hard, but certainly can be something that works, works well and you'll love!

My style was 50% Mountain Lodge 50% Wine country, what a combination. I didn't see any style that looked Nantucket, I love Lighthouses.

Cheap Diva-
Love those fabrics - I mean absolutely love those fabrics and the lime green matches up with your cabinet perfectly. Maybe it would be best to go with cream walls since there is already so much color in the fabrics. I mean if you go with a color on the walls from the fabric the fabric wont' pop as much. but with neutral walls the fabrics would be center stage...
just a thought.
did I say I love those fabrics?

I agree with Yarborough House soft beiges or a cottage white would make your fabrics center stage.

Cheapdiva - I'm thinking that shade of pink looks too "Pepto Bismol-y". My thought is to either tone down the pink to a more dusty, pale shade, or go with a dusty blue, as you considered...

A paler shade of pink or a pinky white would be lovely...One of the blogs I read is by a decorator, and I was just looking through her favorite paint colors. She has lots of suggestions on pink b/c she's about to have a baby girl, so I'll check her blog and let you know!

I actually think pink walls would be really nice with those fabrics, but I think I'd go with an extremely pale shade of almost-white pink. If pink still scares you, you might consider going with a soft yellow. I have done my place in almost exactly the same colors as you are using, and they look great in my yellow room. I agree that a bright white is perfect for trim.

I am 67% rustic revival and 33% vintage!! I think that is just about right....perhaps with some Ikea undertone.

Shabby -
Currently have pale yellow and am tired of it. After painting 4 different areas in the living room I have decided it is just not right. I did get a 2nd sample of a lighter pink and will "test" that today. Otherwise I will be picking up more samples - probably in pale blue over the weekend.

I am evenly split between Arts&Crafts / Country (that looked cottagey to me) / and Wine Country - - anyway, kinda cool sample.
Diva, I was about to say go with a light pink until I saw you were going to look at blues ... you know I'm a sucker for blue ... so, I'm not sure I can help you ... I'm not sure you need a "lighter" pink if you stay pink ... you need a different hue of pink I think ... could you go a little in the direction of peach and stay "pink"?
I just re-read this post and it is very random. Oh well...neat test...thanks for posting.

The second time I took this I was almost predominantly Traditional Country. I just don't think that what they call Traditional Country is what I think that is ... then again ... I live in Tennessee, so my view of "Country" may be quite different than that of the decoration world. Also, yes, I had different pictures the second time through ... Just FYI ... fun test.

cheapdiva - years ago I decided I wanted pink walls and the shade I used was called Tissue Pink by Sherwin-Williams. It was a lovely soft warm shade of pink and turned out very well. I think the pink sample in your pic is too blue it would prob be more to your liking if it was warmer and a bit lighter. Or like some others have suggested you might try a white with a tinge of pink added. Best wishes
