Gigi-
I am glad it all got there in one piece. I truly trust UPS. I am glad you liked it. I was a bit scared after going to your webpage of all the items you have up for sale and intimidated by your "crafty-ness". But then dialed it back and said- just do what spring means.
I did the bird feeder. I make a lot of those. Some I hook the teacup to the saucer then it can be more of a bird bath. My very talented sister painted the robin's egg pictures. She truly wants to paint for a living but has yet to attain that status. She has done wall murals for schools & libraries, furiture for people, canvas' for people..she is truly amazing. And she loves birds and eggs so it was right up her alley. Can you believe she knocked that out in 2 days? dang talented whench :)
I got the apron from a fave store and the potting stuff I have tons of it at home.
I am glad you liked it. Enjoy.
Hi again! Oh my the bird feeder you made yourself???? So so adorable- I will post a pic when I set it up---we have lots and lots of birds too!
The picture- your sister is incredibly talented. The colors the artwork is amazing- I hope she continues to follow her dream and be discovered to make this her living. Wouldn't that be fantastic?
The apron is just too darling-things sold in shop would certainly me a fave of mine too.
Do you sell the bird feeders?

What a great swap!! That little picture is incredible~I hope your sister's dream comes true!
That apron is adorable--I think I'll try to make one for myself!
Gigi-

Gigi what a great swap gift you got!
I received mine from LesB too, I love it. :)
First she gave me a card that is actually embedded with seeds so I can plant it, how cool is that! Then I got an adorable bunny cookie cutter with a recipe for sugar cookies-yum. A darling bunny hanging plaque that says Welcome Spring and some great coasters which will be quite handy for summer drinks.
Thank you Les!!

No I don't sell anything. My dream one day is to have my own shop or just a booth in a cool shop. But until them I just dream. I bought one of the teacup bird baths about 10 years ago in a town called Salado, Tx.
They are really easy. You just get that good glue and glue the cup to the saucer. Then the copper is from the plumbing department and you glue it to that. Just make sure the glue is for glass, metal etc and okay for outside.
If you are really talented you can drill up through the cup and saucer then hook bolts, washers and such but I think I'd just break the porcelain.
I also found that you can go into the hardware section and find items to use to hook to it too as the copper is a bit more spendy.
I have seen them glued to wooden spindles from porches and staircases too. - Just have to seal the wood if in an unprotected area because of rain.
So, now you all know how to make them - go make them and put them in your garden.
And it can be done with anything - doesn't have to be porcelain shabby plates etc..if a more rugged, rustic garden old pie plates or muffin tins would be really cute. Just use your imagination.. I am going to make one with an old clear glass banana split bowl..
glad you enjoyed it.

Great swap from LesB to you annielinz. Nothing says spring like bunnies! My cats have enjoyed watching all the little furry critters out in our yard. They dream a little about catching them, but only the youngest kitty is foolish enough to try:p!

I received my swap package much earlier this week. Marie (Mac78) truly did a fantastic job working with my current theme of "playing in the dirt". I received the prettiest pair of white/blue gardening gloves. I also received some nice gardening tools. A little spade and a miniature rake. (Actually a trowel and a cultivator ... but, realistically - - a space and a minature rake. :)) Anyway, I also received some yummy vanilla hand lotion, a package of delphinium seeds, and a couple of adorable little pieces I will need to photograph for you. I got the most precious little flowered tea-pot night light and a cute little blue-bird basket to hold flowers. Everything fits my colors, florals, and themes. I am really incredibly thankful for my gift.
Anyway, this is fun! Marie, keep your eyes out for one of those puffy manilla envelopes USPS Priority Mail. I'm wishing I had expedited it to you based on my own sense of impatience for you to get your "swap". I finally "thought spring" so-to-speak. Anyway, thanks a bunch!

Oh Marie, You did a fabulous job. I have participated in a handful of "swaps" so-to-speak and I actually kind of struggled with this one. So, I am kind of anxious for you to get your stuff. You did a GREAT job. Swaps are a fun way to make our "virtual" friendships a little bit more "real" so-to-speak. We get to shop with others in mind and get a nice little care package on what for some crazy reason always feels like THE perfect day to receive a gift.
So, thanks again!

Well now I'm worried that my swap wasn't enough... it DID have a $10 limit, right?

Everyone's swaps are great. There are going to be a lot of new flowers blooming out there!

I know, those $10 limits always sneak up on me and I barely make it and never looks as good as everyone else. :p I've decided that everyone else have much better stores. ;)
Mem, my dh sent mine out last Wedn. there will be two packages, he missed the item on the TOP of the pile.

I received my swap today from Rubyslippers. I saved it to open after my dc kids were napping and I could have 20 minutes of peace and quiet. The package had a pound of "Spring Blend" coffee, a blend of caramel and butterscotch and it smells so GOOD! A candle "Flowering Herbs", and 2 packets of seeds. What a nice package.....Thank you so much. I love coffees and I love candles! I am going to plant the morning glories under a trellis my step dad made me.
(I tried to attach the image, but didn't work, will have to work on that, so I will post a pic the only way I know how for now).

Oh Marie, I am so glad everything made it there in one piece. As a teacher, I tend to "think summer" - - so "thinking spring" just stumped me this year. Plus, a couple of my favorite antique haunts just did not pan out as they have in earlier swaps. You may get a "surprise" little present should I stumble on just the right thing. I was worried you might not be a coffee drinkier; however, the spring blend gourmet coffee makes it MUCH easier for me to get out of bed and face the little rascals at school. Usually I save coffee like that for special days - - Sundays or something - - but in the last few weeks I have been drinking my coffee and burning my favorite candles and "playing in the dirt"; so, I decided the best way to "think spring" with you was to send you the things that were currently creating stolen relaxing moments in the day for me.
Every best wish,
Jenny

I had to share this with you.....My daughter Ashley, who is 18, when she saw the bag of coffee was all excited..as she loves flavored coffees. She told me this morning that she had a dream last night and that a "fat man" took the bag of coffee and poured it into a cereal bowl with Lucky Charms and ate it.
Hmm, crazy dream......The coffee is great.....we are drinking it this morning.

Hey you guys I am just jumping into this thread. My computer has been attacked and I have had to change everything on here and I'm still not sure if it is all gone. THAT is where I have been, well that and the Herb Festival.
Anyway I had to reset all my passwords and I still have some monkey business going on I think. I get these audio ads and there is no icon to click to stop them. Oh my, I may have to send my computer to my nephew who is the computer nerd to straighten me out.!!!!!!
I got my package from Tanya yesterday and hers went out today. I know I am the last one to get going. I swear I am gonna do better. The heat is here and I will have inside time now. I have pictures of the wonderful gifts she sent me. They are perfect! Totally perfect.
I may have to go and retrieve them from photobucket and I will add them to the next post I make. I may nhave to mail my computer to Maryland and if so I will be gone till it is cleaned up but maybe I won't have to. What a world what a world.

I posted my swap received under the wrong heading and I wanted to make sure you all saw what cute stuff Gigi got me. So, here is the post again :)
What a nice surprise. I go to pick up my daughter from preschool and when we get back there is a package on my porch from Gigi...
How cute it all was. Sophie ( my daughter) was in love with the bunnies as soon as they came out of the box. The soap smells lovely and the pitcher will be welcome addition to put flowers on the back porch. I am sure my son will steal the margarita glass to take to college with him
thanks for it all, I love it.
We need to do this again in the fall- halloween timeframe and then again at Christmas. Those are my most fave times to create and get "crafty"
here is my box of goodies -

Oh Mem I'm so thrilled that you liked your stuff. :) I mentioned it in my letter to you (there was a letter right or did dh forget that too?) those potholders were a total experiment. That pink one was supposed to have a more lace like edge with this needlework stitch I adore but well my experiment didn't go quite as I expected. :o:p Amusingly enough the flowers were the most time consuming, there has to be a punch that would cut them out of felt. As it were my little Chyna dog had one stuck in her hair while keeping me company. Who knew that four petal flowers would be more difficult to cut out then five?! LOL

Speaking of the Montana flowers, Rosemary did yours come back this year? My little rose campions are looking good at my place, can't wait for their pretty little rosy red faces to start blooming. Little early for that right now. ;)
I got my swap package from Shabbychick today. She sent some wonderful and thoughtful gifts. I'll go into more detail at my blog, but I had to post and show you guys what she sent!
She sent a very cute card with a drawing of some birds...(there's a story to that by the way), a lovely wooden sandpiper, a cute light green painted plate, a painted metal purse, (going in my garden), a list pad with cute flower magnets, some Nasturtium seeds, fabric quarters, decorative paper and a yummy snack which has already made its way into my tummy ;)
Thanks Shabbychick so much. I love it! And I appreciate it--some of the gifts have already found their permanent home in my sunroom :)

It took me a few days to get the pictures from my husband (who insisted on taking them with his new expensive camera - sheesh, men!) BUT here is my swap package from ChapterTwo - Kimberly! In addition to this great package she sent a second package of salt water taffy that was incredibly fresh and delicious. I say "was" because Jeff ate most of it!!!
The little birds are beautiful and found a home right away in my green cupboard in the living room - between two pieces that Miss Memmey gave me the first time we met! I love the wire piece - think I am going to use it in my office and put family pictures tucked into it. I have notepads EVERYWHERE around my house because I am a list maker, the seeds are going into my garden plot for cut flowers and the floating flower candles are going to be used tonight for my "girls night out" dinner!! Even the little bouquet of flowers will get a new home at my office. I am slowly bringing antique cups and bowls to the office to use as paperclip and binder clip holders - much prettier than the tacky things you buy at the office supply store! And I always need frames!
Thanks, Kim - I love it all!:)

I'm thrilled that you like everything, cheapdiva...and your husband did a wonderful job of photographing the swap items.
I hope you and your friends enjoyed your "girls night out"! :)
P.S. - Just wanted to add that the frame and the wire wall hanging came from that great flea market I go to, which benefits shelter animals.
The frame was a muddy goldish/brown color (see the back, cheapdiva), but I thought it needed to be white, and so a can of spray paint did the trick!
The birdies came from an estate sale.

Suz, I'm glad the package made it to you safely. I packed it myself, so I was a little worried about the plate surviving. I'm so happy that you liked the swap box. And on another thread I've posted a pic of myself wearing the scarf you knitted for me. I got lots of compliments on it!
Doing this swap was so much fun. I hope we'll all be able to do something like this again in the fall.

Quick note, I got my package from Memmey and it fabulous. Wish I had pics of it wrapped up but Lizzie was really excited to help me unwrap. :D There is a woman veggie peeler, pink tablecloth w/matching napkins (yes Mem the kitchen is pink now), a teapot collectors spoon (which I collect), a floral metal tray and lemongrass/mint soap. I will get it all set up and photo'd and by gosh my dh is going to let me use the computer and help me post them.

On Friday I received a wonderful swap package from cheapdiva, which you'll see, below. There's a book called, "The Pink Drink" (a cocktail recipe book for women), a large packet of wildflower seeds, a smaller bag of wildflower seeds to attract hummingbirds and butterflies, a cute bunny figurine, and a sweet birdy in a nest (we were on the same wavelength, with ceramic birds!), which is actually a collectible salt and pepper set.
I'm sorry it took me so long to post, but Friday evening I had to attend a surprise 25th Anniversary party, on Saturday I went to a wedding, and there have been some "complications" lately, which I'll write about soon in another thread. It was one of those weekends with too much going on.
Thank you, cheapdiva...I enjoyed and appreciated it all! :)

So glad you liked it! We had mojitos as the cocktail at our May wedding, so they always remind me of spring. Very refreshing! Hope you like the pickles... They are called "company pickles", and they are my grandmother's recipe (brought up to date by the UGA extensions office food safety person). I've never had any pickles that taste like them...sweet but not bread and butter and kind of spicy. YUM.
