Since some of us will be posting a tour of our homes how about posting pics of ourselves/families as well. It would be wonderful to see everyone behind the screen names! Since I suggested it I will post first - if I can follow Tammy's directions properly.:D - pic posted is of hubby & me taken this past Easter. OK now girls let's see all those smiling happy faces! ps this includes Hillary, Meryl and any other staffers who would like to join in. Don't be shy!!!

Christmas Day 2008.

I usually avoid the camera at all costs but here ya go.
I had pulled a muscle in my back on Christmas morning and had taken a pain pill and was sipping some champagne (not a good idea BTW) and my kids had donned my reading glasses unbeknownst to me as a joke....those little stinkers.

Lisa and Breezy great pics!

Last July we went to our favorite spot....Daytona Beach. Here are a couple pics of what us northerners from Ohio call one of the greatest places on earth.....the warm Atlantic Ocean....Pic of Dave and I at St. Augustine. The rest at Daytona Beach. Can ya all tell we love the beach.....I really want a little cottage by the beach someday....I would settle for 2 hours away.

WOW again! Miss Marie & Miss Heather what great pics!

Marie I love the ocean too. When I was little and the family would go to the beach (Pacific) my older sis & I would play in the sand and dig for those tiny white crabs (or whatever they were - we called em crabs) - we had such fun.:) ps that water was cold!

Heather I didn't know you were Airsides - thanks for letting us know.:)

Aww Miss Zu - what a sweet pic. Those red shoes made a fashion statement!:)

I am with Zuzu, I don't have recent pictures of me. Having 4 kids really robbed me of me body wise. I hide from the camera if anyone gets one - usually I am the one taking pictures..I'll try to get one this weekend when we are out - too rainy now.

But here is one of my two youngest kids with their best friend (you know the one locked in my new cabinet - haha). My kids are on the right and center.

HaHa, Zu...that was a good one!

I do know there are many people who just don't like their photos taken, and I understand. (The older I get, the less I do, too.)

But one time I read something about a woman who would never get in photos, would always be the photographer and never the "subject", etc., etc. When her time came to go to the garden in the sky (Ahem!), her children had only old photos from when they were very young, and they really regretted that there were no more recent ones.

Soooooo, the moral of the story is that even if we don't want to post them here, be sure you take at least some photos with your family/friends, for posterity!

Oh, gee...I had a friend who used to put lemon juice on her face to get rid of her freckles! ;) The idea was to bleach them away...

Oh bad memories of spraying sun-in on my hair. It turned a lovely shade of orange:eek: not the highlighted blonde I was looking for. I did do the lemon juice and chamomile tea with much better results.:D

I really hate having my picture taken also, but I've come to grips with it. I don't want to leave this world with the only picture of me is in 80's garb with padded shoulders, leggings and big hair!!

This is too funny! No one, but no one, has bigger hair than my husband in 1990. This picture was taken with us a week after we got married at a wedding party that a friend threw for us. (We eloped after dating for 2 weeks.) The little one on my lap is a friend's baby who is now 18!

Hehe... I'm laughing looking at this picture again. My honey was so young!

Okay... I'm having a great time looking at these old pictures. I promise, I'll only post one more! This is my husband's old band. That's him in the upper right corner.

Telluride is a place I want to visit. I went on a gondola just to do something that took me out of my comfort zone. It was a beautiful once in a lifetime experience.

Heather - that was really funny! :D

When I first read this thread, I thought "what does it matter what we look like anyway?" I've been bubs :p (a.k.a. buds) with Lisa and Lynzee for almost five years now, and have enjoyed all the many friendships we've made both at CL and here simply by being who we are. But now I'm thinking this is a lot of fun! You are all talented, beautiful women and I feel very privileged to be able to call you my dear cottage friends.

So, without further ado, here is a picture of me taken on the day I nailed the sheathing to the trusses on the Tiny House. Someday I'll post an "after" picture in pearls and a pink boa. ;) ~ Zuzu

I am loving getting to see all of you! You are all beautiful, inside and out!

Zu, I climbed up on our roof of to work, too, but I didn't like it too much! One neat thing--while we were up there and I was worried I'd fall off, our neighbor, who is a classical violinist, started playing. He lives down by the lake, so all the sound down that way is amplified. It was so beautiful to sit on top of the house late in the evening and just listen to him play~I've no idea what the music was, but it was beautiful! We didn't do any hammering during that music and it made my 'stay' up there much more relaxing!

Zu ~ we have been friends for 5 years. Isn't that neat? You are a brave girl for getting on the roof. Cute too. Will you climb back up for the pearls and boa shot? I'd be happier if you DIDN'T!

I love your story, RoseMary. That is so beautiful.

And no, Lisa, I won't climb back up for the pearls and boa shot. I'd rather get together some day and have someone take a picture of us all together - wearing pearls and pink boas, of course!

RoseMary ~ I love violin music. How wonderful that must have been--even up on the roof. We have made zero progress on the kitchen--unless you count minimal demolition and the leak being fixed. We have been without a kitchen for over 6 weeks now and haven't made the first decision as to what we are going to do. I am overwhelmed to the point of being immobilized.

I am such a chicken when it comes to posting pics on the web and I really am the one always holding the camera so I couldn't find any photos with me in them (I really do need to work on that!), but I did find one that was taken by a professional a couple of years ago and I posted it in my album so you can at least put a face with my name.

Somehow I missed Lynzee's picture?? I'll have to look back through the thread. Zu- I'm very impressed at your roof climbing skills! Everyone looks so lovely and it's nice to be able to connect faces with names.

We went to the beach this weekend, so here are some pics (one of me, one of the dh, and one of ruby). Ruby wasn't supposed to go to the beach b/c my stepdad doesn't allow dogs at the house, but we snuck her down there b/c she was bitten by a spider on the neck last week and has a huge gross hot spot and 4 meds taken twice daily. Thought that might be a little much for our neighbor to handle (along with the other 3 dogs). So, she had a relaxing weekend in her kennel on the screened porch.

CohenCottage
05-11-2009, 09:57 AM
We are about 5 hours from the beach, so not too far, but far enough to make you tired of driving :) My parent's beach house was the ugliest on the block, but they've just completed a huge renovation (b/c it was about to fall down). I've got some photos of the renovation to post!! I lived down there for about a year and a half when i was taking a break from graduate school, and there is nothing like going to the beach after work! Ruby definitely enjoyed herself too...

Lynzee--thank you for posting your picture. You are so pretty. Sorry the kitchen decision making is not going well. I can identify:o.

Cohen, I hope that Ruby is recovering well from her spider bite. I didn't realize that they bit dogs or rather, that dogs had reactions to them. I know that wasps sting our labrador/airedale all the time and it never seems to bother him.

Your picture is great, Zu! What amazed me when I saw it was that you look exactly like I always imagined you would--only with longer hair!

BPG reminded me that I have this picture. It was taken during our last whitewater rafting trip with friends--whose faces I have blurred since I don't have their permission to post their photos online. Ruby is doing pretty well... Her spider bite is still gross but healing, and today hubs came home and she was sitting on the couch with the remote control. Please note, when he left the house she was behind a closed door and she KNOWS she isn't supposed to get on the couch without permission.
