On April 21, my kids and I are meeting the family that Ashley will be living with in Germany. We are staying in Bradenton, FL, for 5 days. We are looking for fun/inexpensive/free things to do while there. The other family has an almost 2 yr old, so our activities need to be kid friendly.

Besides beachcombing, drive along the coast, any other suggestions from anyone who is familiar with the area. We have never been to that area, but I am sure there are things to do off the beaten path that are way more interesting than the $$$$sucking tourist traps. :)

So is there not anyone from this area to suggest places to see/things to do? ;)

Not familiar with that area, but maybe you could check out the chamber of commerce website for that area. Normally they will list things to do when visiting. I envy you. I am sure you are going to have a fantastic time. I am looking forward to pictures:D

I am looking forward to it too!. To meet the family Ashley will be living with, to to meet their little boy, to get my toes in the sand, to waddle in the Gulf, to spend time with my kids, but not looking forward to flying......Just wondering, is 6:30a.m. too early to have a couple margaritas?
