Vintage Find!!

I found this Majestic stove at a local antiques place, but the owner was holding it for a friend of his wife. Two weeks later he still wasn't sure if she wanted it, so he's selling it to me tonight for $50 bucks less than he was asking!!

We want to retrofit it with gas logs (it's woodburning) and install it on a covered wooden deck. Does anyone have any thoughts on the feasiblility of this project? Are we going to potentially burn our house down??

I think it would work. Just make sure the area under and around is fireproofed. You are going ventless I would assume. We have a ventless fireplace in our house and I love it. What a neat idea.

It will be outside on a covered porch, and it has a functioning pipe/chimney thing, so it will be REALLY vented!

I love the stove!

I really know nothing about this type of thing...but I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to have some sort of fireproof material on the deck, underneath the stove. Of course, I don't know what! :o
