It isn't so much about bad sales over the weekend but my coming up with ideas of what to do with some stuff I saw but didn't buy. At one sale there was two crinkle panel sheers for sale (good price) that I picked up two days in a row but set down because I already have curtains/sheers in my livingroom. Then at another sale I saw this large print for a decent price. Again I passed on buying it becuase the print was really sun faded (green grass was now blue).

So last night I'm drifting off to sleep and wham! It comes to me, I could have made a college out of the frame/print and used as a headboard of sorts and since I've had this thing that holds fabric to drape over the bed again wham! I could have used those curtains.

Why oh why can't my inspiration ever hit me at the moment not two days later?!!!!:o

Ah, all the brilliant things we think of when we're drifting off to sleep:)! That happens to me a lot too, Chyna:D. Seems like an odd time for our brain to work very well:p!

I'm to the point now, that when I'm leaving a thrift shop I stop before I go check out and consider the things I might 'regret' leaving there.

I'm such an impulse buyer that I rarely leave anything behind in a thrift shop. I figure stuff is cheap there, and if I spend ten dollars on something, can't use it, and eventually have to freecycle it, I haven't really lost much. And there are always those white elephant gift exchanges at Christmas where I can share my regrettable impulse buys with an unsuspecting friend or relative. :)

I am still having dreams about this fabulous turquoise chandelier that hubs and I saw 2 weeks ago in Julian, Ca. It came out of a local farm and was amazing. Probably a little large for my dining room, but would look great over my farm table. It was a little too pricey for me, but still a good price. Hubs told me to go ahead and get it, but I felt guilty. I have decided that the next time we are up there, if it is still there, I am going to get it. We take our motorhome up that way camping about 2-3 times a month, but our done for the summer. I am hoping they still have it when we go in October or so. With the economy the way it is, it is a possibility. When I got my vintage stove recently, it was posted on Craigslist for over a year and a half. I kept calling and talking with the owner. The price started at $1000 and suddenly it was not on craigslist anymore. I had kept their phone # and gave them another call. The owner said they were getting no takers because of the economy and were going to put it in their garage, but since I was so persistent, if I came and got it that weekend, I could have it for $300!!!!! I was there bright and early on Saturday morning. Hubs almost got a hernia, vent caps blew off on the freeway on the way home, and hubs almost got run over by a big rig getting them back, but the stove is BEAUTIFUL!!! If it is meant to be it will happen;)

I can just see your hubby dodging traffic to pick up stove parts. :p I have sternly told myself that I need to listen to that little voice that says "get it" unless there is a really really good reason not to. And keep the great idea in mind when I hit some sales again. And there will be something better out there, usually is. :o
