We are taking the little one to Disney World for her kindergarten graduation gift. She has wanted to go since she was old enough to know what Disney World is and she talks about it endlessly! Because we wanted this to be a huge surprise for her, she knows nothing except that we are going on vacation and will be staying in a hotel. She hasn't asked where.
So...we have been trying to think of a creative way to let her know where we are going. We are also trying to figure out when to tell her. I had thought about putting Disney information in a big envelope--wrapped as a gift--and giving it to her when we get in the car to leave home or when we arrive at the hotel. BPG suggested waiting until we get to the park and watching her face as she realizes where we are. I, too, think that would be fun, but I'm also wondering if the anticipation isn't a large part of the magic. After all, she won't have the opportunity to tell everyone we see at every stop between here and there that she is going to Disney World. What do y'all think? How would you reveal the surprise to a little one?
