Has anybody tried avatars? I just grabbed a random image off the web and it appears to work.

I would love to add one but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I've clicked on everything in my User CP but I can't find an avatar option. Am I searching in the wrong place?

Hi Clev,

Yes, a couple of us wrote that we were having trouble in this thread:
http://www.cottagesandbungalowsmag.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34

I used to test website apps professionally, and so out of curiosity I went back to the Cottage Living website to see what might be different.

At the CL site, under User CP/Settings & Options, there is an Edit Avatar option. Here, at C&B, that option does not display.

So perhaps, as an Administrator, you have Edit Avatar user privileges, whereas regular users like myself do not. Could this be a User Privileges setting that needs selected to allow us to set up an avatar?

Okay, I turned on custom avatars for members and increased the default size to 100x100 pixels. I also turned on images in signatures.

Avatars are up and running now! Thanks Clev!

To add an avi to your posts, go into the User CP and click on the link that says "Edit Avatar." Then you can just upload an image from your hard drive as you would on any other forum.

OK, everybody -- go for it! :D

Lucky you, Lisa! I love Hugh Laurie. He's an outstanding actor.

Oh yeah, and he's got incredible blue eyes. ;)

Mine has green eyes, but he's still cute!

I look like Marilyn Monroe, of course!

Maybe with a dash of Phillis Diller. My age is showing today, isn't it?

My husband looks exactly like Hugh Laurie!

Jeeves and Wooster Hugh Laurie, Blackadder Hugh Laurie or House Hugh Laurie? :-)

The house version. I'll have to check out the others!

Wow, Lisa, Marilyn Monroe with a dash of Phillis Diller.

I think in the mornings I look most like Anne Ramsey ("Momma" in Throw Momma from the Train), but after a couple of hours I look just like me.

:p
