Wasn't sure what area to post this in but since it shows houses with yards well curb appeal applies. I posted my home tour on my blog and figured I'd link it here so you all can get a feel of where I live. It would be cool if you all could do something like this so we could get a feel of where everyone lives. Maybe an album - just a thought.
Enjoy,

Wow! I want to move to your town! The houses are all so beautiful. And I absolutely love your decorations :)
There are some very nice historic homes in my town but we don't have all of that nice brickwork like you guys do. I'm also curious as to what the asking price is on the bungalow that you mentioned is on the market? Its always fun to compare prices in different parts of the country!

Hey Nikki- I looked it up on realtor.com and it is listed at $212,000.00
Quite overpriced and I figure it would only sell for about $180 max.
Here is the link on it if you'd like to see the interior:

I LOVE your town- your street and your home! Real small town- but with a BIG wow with all the charming homes!
Since I live in the Washington area (East coast) the same houses here would be priced twice that or three times....good grief- I HATE our taxes, and inflatation here!

Oh my goodness, what a lovely town you live in! It must be wonderful to walk that neighborhood! My neighborhood is pretty hideous, actually, but I found the old part of town recently where there are neat old houses from the 19th century. I'll try to take some pictures if I can do it without getting arrested. The little neighborhood is close to the river, where I found the most wonderful park and walking trail. I took a bunch of pictures of the river and the views today. If they turn out, I'll post a few. It's a very soul-soothing walk, a little bit of wildness in the heart of the city. The really old downtown area of Everett has some beautiful and tres expensive houses that look out over Puget Sound. They're also from the 19th century. They're more like mansions. All those timber barons got to live pretty high on the hog!

Well, it turns out I do have a picture of a house in the photos I took today, though it may not be exactly what you're looking for. Here are some of the pictures I took on the Lowell River Trail today. This explains why I live in Washington State even though I am currently sitting here wrapped in a blanket.

Shabbychic- that is beautiful. I would rather be under a blanket then sweating my butt off. Fall is my fave time as it is what we call "hoodie" weather. If you need to wear jeans and a hooded sweatshirt it is heaven to me.

I love cool, sunny days in the fall on the occasions we get them. Today was warm, the first time I've been able to go out in shirtsleeves in the morning and not be cold. It would have been uncomfortably warm except there was a breeze blowing. Tomorrow I'm going to walk around the Lowell neighborhood and snap some pics of those old houses. Later this week or next I'll go over to Snohomish and get some pics of those homes. I've been lusting after the historic homes in Snohomish for years! Snohomish is a great little town when it's not underwater. That river is both a blessing and a curse.

Your town is beautiful, YH! It must be so great to live there.
Pictures of my neighborhood would be pictures of pine trees, a long, narrow dirt road, and tons of kudzu. :(

I thoroughly enjoyed looking at the pictures you posted!
Photos of my town would yield Korean stores, day laborers sitting/standing on the street corners, and ugly McMansion duplexes, where lovely old homes once stood...Progress?
:(:confused::mad:
Now you know why I'm moving!

Both of you live in beautiful towns. Love the pics of the river. My town is all horsetrails and manure:eek: But I will try and take some pics this weekend. We do have a unique town as we do not have sidewalks at all and several hundred miles of horsetrail. Unfortunately most of the homes are not in that great of shape, as the owners pay more attention to their horses and other animals. It is unique in that everyone has all sorts of different animals. I had a petting zoo for the local schools at one time. We had goats, chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, peacocks, horses, cows, and pigs. After years of that we got tired of the upkeep and now all my animals live with my neighbors, so I can still visit them. I run a bird rescue (parrots), and also a bird release for weddings and funerals, so we have 80 pigeons (colored and white for the releases), 8 parrots, 15 budgies, 6 finches, and 5 dogs. It is fun to walk through our neighborhood as you will come across houses with all the traditional farm animals, emus, and even a camel or two. Every business in town has a hitching post and we even have church services on horseback.
Here is a pic of some of my bird rescues that currently live with me:)

Those pics of houses are absolutely beautiful. The lake pics are so peaceful. I will try to get some pics over the next few days of my town, but really, NW Ohio is nothing compared to where some of you live.

Those birds look pretty happy now! How many birds do you usually have at one time? It must be really satisfying to take in a living creature like that and give a good home.

I really can't wait to see pics of your new house and see all the stuff you end up doing to it.
...and I can't wait to get started! Gotta get finished with all wedding related stuff first.
The kitchen will be white with red, and dark gray flooring, the dining room will be white and blue (lots of Blue Willow stuff) and the living room will be pink/beige/brown...roses and girly stuff.

Shabbychick,
I have anywhere from 5-10 birds at any given time. The ones I have now are here to stay and I will be taking in a lovebird this Sunday. I have fostered this bird before, as the owner has a lot of health problems. Her problems have gotten worse, so her bird will be coming here permanently. I would like to take in more birds, but right now with the economy it is impossible, since after I rehab them, I cannot find homes for them. A lot of the larger rescues are shutting down because they do not have the funds to keep open. I have kept my rescue very small, so that I do not have to rely on donations. I have been handling all expenses 100% on my own for the past 2 years. Luckily we have the means to do that. It is very rewarding to do animal rescue. I have been involved in rescue for the past 25 years. I used to do cat rescue, and now do dog fostering and bird rescue. It kind of takes over your life sometimes, but the end results are worth it.

Oh, my, that tour makes me want to up and move! I'd be happy to be part of the restoration of a small town. I wonder if they need any school librarians there. :)
