that vinyl tiles have 48 hours to acclimate????

Okay, here's what happened. Y'all know I lost interest in my kitchen project a long time ago, but I keep plugging along. Went to Lowe's several weeks ago and halfheartedly picked out peel and stick tiles for the floor. Don't know where my brain was that day--obviously not on flooring--because I didn't buy enough. So, I'm 3/4 of the way through laying the floor today and I run out of tiles!

Trouble is...I ran out by the wall where the refrigerator and the cabinets we bought from Lowe's go. I also didn't make it into the laundry room, so the washer and dryer, along with the refrigerator and the Lowe's cabinets, are sitting in the middle of the dining room at present, which is where they will have to stay while the tile "acclimates".

I'm thinking if it's 78 degrees in Lowe's and it's 78 degrees in my house, the d*&% things should be plenty acclimated and I can go ahead and finish the job when BPG gets home with the boxes he is picking up on his way home from work. What do y'all think?

Sit down Lynzee, take a deep breath, put your feet up, sip on that Margarita, close your eyes and relax.

Does that help? Sorry things are goin' crappy for ya.

Good advice, Heather. Think I will have several while I'm laying the rest of the tile.:D

Honestly, I would probably wait at least 24 hours just in case humidity and other environmental factors affect the tiles. As much as it stinks to have to wait when you are ready to go, it stinks that much more to have your project not turn out well b/c you didn't wait. My hubs is VERY impatient, so we've had this issue before :) Good luck and enjoy those frosty beverages!

I probably will, CC. It's just so frustrating! Expecially since it's only two lousy pieces of tile that are keeping me from putting the baseboard back on and sliding the refrigerator and the cabinets back into place and getting all of the stuff put back into the cabinets.

Guess that's what I get for not paying enough attention to the project... :(

I have no idea, but Heather's remedy sounds pretty good! Better than the beer I'm drinking right now. :D

You're so right, Marie! I took Heather's advice--and Cohen's, as well. It saved my sanity and my flooring project.

Thanks, Ladies! :)

We gave it about 28 hours, then laid the last few tiles so the floor is finished! We got the baseboards on, the refrigerator and the cabinets are in place and the washer and dryer are back in the laundry room. And I found my dining room table that I haven't seen since March! :D
