Did y'all miss me this weekend? We've been painting the living room so all of our electronic equipment is in the hallway, so we have had no internet at home...I barely survived. This weekend was BUSY but we got a lot done:

Friday - finished the metal bins, had spend the night company.

Sat - had group class, lunch, met with plantation shutter people, started painting the hallway in the afternoon (after company left), went to lowe's and best buy between coats. finished second coat at 9:30 pm, went out for drinks and partied like a rock start til 1:15 am (last weekend before the college kids take over downtown).

Sunday - woke up to one of the dogs having a grand mal seizure...she's okay. prepped and painted the living room ceiling, cut in the walls, went to bed early with the house in total disarray, dog had another seizure.

Monday - woke up and made vet appt, painted walls of living room, realized that the ceiling paint is a weird fleshy color, went to vet, finally went to work.

Now we have to find another ceiling paint color and finish the living room. Any tips for things that go with 'cappuccino'?

Cappuccino is a hard color to work with, as a lot of colors turn pink when they are put with it (hence the flesh tone you mentioned). What I would suggest is going to your paint store where you picked up the wall color paint and looking on their color wheel for coordinating colors. That way you will not get a color that has a pink base to it. Somthing with a creamy yellow undertone would probably look great, but to be sure, you really need to check on the colorwheel. Here is a link to the colorwheel. If you can find a close match to your wall color, you could choose your ceiling paint this way also:

Oh I missed you CC!
How is your dog doing? Yikes, eh? Have you ever had that happen with a dog before?
How is the cappuccino dilemma turning out? I went and painted all my ceilings kinda a beige (or cappuccino?) last year... I thought white was too stark (other than boy's room - it's blueberry blue with white - and it looks SO COOL in there). Back to my post about the trim colour being cream in the whole house.... anyways, the beigy coloured ceilings turned out for me, I guess (nobody told me otherwise...) What colour is the wall up against it? Maybe that's the problem!

The wall is cappuccino and we did 30 percent of that color on the ceiling and I think lightening it messed it all up. The walls look great, and we are considering 'ballet white' or 'clay beige' for the ceiling. The kitchen cabinets are the clay beige color, and it looks great with the cappuccino walls in there. The 'ballet white' isn't really white, and it is only 2 shades lighter than the clay beige. So that's what we are leaning towards...We will see how it turns out. If we do that, I'm not sure if I should do the same ballet white on the trim (floor and windows, we don't have crown moulding) or if I should do the lighter 'dove white'. Decisions, decisions...

Poppy (the dog) is doing pretty well. Seems to be normal, and her bloodwork results should come back today. No more seizures yesterday, so that is good!

That's funny that your baby's room is blueberry and white...we just did that combo in the dog/laundry room, and the hubs keeps saying it looks like a Southern Living baby boy's room in there!

Glad your dog is doing ok!
Ok I "get" what you're saying now about the colour....
Yeah, I love his room in the blueberry!

Yeah I liked the truck stage... we're on to dinosaurs now - which isn't as fun decorating!

Heather embrace it as the decorating scheme changes from dinosaurs to stupid things like pokemon, bakugan, starwars - then teen like girls in bikinis...
it just goes downhill. But my fave is true teenager- clothes strewn all over, curtains closed all the time to keep it dark for tv and game playing and smelly with boy funk...ahhh love it NOT.

I miss decorating for little people - can't stand the teenage stage. Bedrooms always stink of raging hormones!!!! Of course, we're way past that - haven't had a kid at home for 5 years.

My daughter who is going to be 19, finally is in a stage where she wants a nice room. She switched from horror goth:eek: to chic french shabby. Repainted her room in two tone. Deep red on top, light grey on bottom and a wonderful antiqued around the world (mainly France) border at chair rail height. Fastastic white billowly tab top curtains over deep red shades, and great black and white furniture with a black and white floral area rug. We have gone through many "phases" through the years. The worst was bright blue walls and posters of pre-teen boy singers. YUK YUK YUK I absolutely love her room now. I keep telling her I am going to move into it;)

I'm actually looking forward to us continuing the second story and moving my dd upstairs to a bedroom up there just so I can have her bedroom. :o Not because of the color so much but because it has those lovely windows, hardwood floors and once the drop ceiling it down and I install the chandelier it will just be darling! She suggested that we trade bedrooms and I told her no way. My br is bigger than her's but to make her room into a spare room with my craft stuff. And a great big sign that says NO BOYS ALLOWED. My piggie hubby can move his crap out to the garage or the yard. ;)

Does this dog have seizures often? I have a dog at home that has them in the warmer months, the vets have never been able to figure out why and unless she has one in front of them they can't do a thing about them. Now doesn't that make you feel special huh?

This was her first episode, but my vet thinks it is adult onset epilepsy. Her bloodwork should be back today, so we will know if her liver or kidney functions are off. Seizures are usually caused by trauma, a bleed in the brain, a tumor, or chemical imbalances. So unless she has a tumor, it's probably just normal epilepsy. Luckily we have the UGA vet school in town, and there are an abundance of excellent vets and specialists in town!

Could be a once in a lifetime thing too. One of my dogs did that to me not long ago shortly after we took her in from my b-i-l and hasn't had one since. I think in my dogs cases it is genetic since their big brother has horrible horrible ones, Chyna has them and Wuffie had them once that I know of. Gypsie had some really nasty ones earlier this year which I think relates to her sudden eye blindness.

All I know is that they have all been tested over the years and all have a slight elevation of protein. Nothing out of the norm but right at the cusp of highly suspicious. I just hate them but they are the usual rigamarole around the house. I just cradle Chyna in my arms and talk softly to her and slowly and gently stroke her crest to calm her down. The whole fear of what is going on for them I think is worse than the seizure itself.
