I posted earlier today that I start nesting now in preparation of having to spend six months stuck inside. Recently I came across this website and thought it was just great.
So many of us have magazines or photos from magazines we can't part with or if you're like me you are forever finding photos on the web and then putting them in a "dream" folder on your computers desktop (you do do that, don't you?!).
This site www.houzz.com (sorry, can't get it to do a link on here) is fantastic. You can create your own folder and drop photos into it. Talk about eye candy!
I think we should all post a new blog or site so we all have something pretty to look at - and get the newbies involved. Hello to those of you who are new!

I did, but it was getting completely out of control. Now I'm moving them slowly over to my blog. I had some on my old computer and when it went south, so did the pics. I put some on CL, and when they closed, it was bye-bye to the pics. I'm starting to wonder how long blogging will be around. Everything is changing so fast!

I guess it is fall.....
Here I was in t-shirts and flip flops and then POOF the clouds came over and stayed. I noticed the leaves had started to turn brown. I've got a cold. I realized I should empty out the pool as we haven't been in it for a week or so. I got my notice that my summer truck insurance expires soon and it's time to insure the winter truck. I should be going through Boys' clothes as he grew this summer and I can't send him out the door in shorts and crocs anymore. I thought that maybe I can stop deadheading the flowers now as the annuals are dying off now. I think I'll make grilled cheese sandwiches with soup tonight as it probably will rain all day today.
I guess it is fall.
Why is it that this season hits you with a bang - catching you off guard like that? I wasn't ready!

cheapdiva~thank you for that link. Looks like a great site!
Zu, what do you think will come 'after' blogging? It does seem like there are less people blogging now. I wonder if it is because of facebook and twitter?
Heather, we are having some cooler weather, too. I'm looking forward to fall, but I'm not sure it's here for us, just yet.

I don't know, Rose Mary! I read that a new blog is created every second and it is growing rather than slowing down. But then there are forums and Twitter and Facebook and new sites like CD's Houzz. We don't have time to visit them all!

It's seeming more fall-like every day here. We have had a cool summer and last week had temps. in the 60's. The trees are turning and I can't wait to get out my Fall decorations! I keep files full of pictures torn from magazines. I decided to do that rather than save the whole magazine. I do save the whole C&B magazine since so many of the articles could be helpful in the future. Plus I just like to reread my favorite issues!

I have a hard time letting go of magazines too, Josephine! I've just started to take mine apart and save the articles that I want. I'm putting them in a notebook to keep them in order. It's slow go, but I know I'll be glad I did it!
I can't wait to see some fall colors around here. We have a little bit of yellow, but I suspect that may be from all the rain we've had. I just hope summer isn't going to sneak back in for a few weeks.

Just a little crispiness in the air even in Tennessee.

It was even refreshingly cool in South Georgia this week! That is definitely not normal. August in the south is usually the worst awful sweltering month!

We've had a few rainy, coolish days, but overall it's still warm (in the 70s) and sunny. We're supposed to have significant rainfall moving in tomorrow afternoon and Sunday (just in time for the labor day BBQ). Fall in Seattle is often quite sunny and beautiful between rain and windstorms. I can't wait for the leaves to change along my favorite river walk.

Shabbychick~it has been in the 70s here, too~we call that COOL:p. Seems like it has been a strange summer here--lots of rain, cooler temps. Our hottest weather was in June. I don't remember a summer like this. Your river walk sounds lovely!
I'm hoping for a long fall, as we usually go straight from summer to winter with only a few fall days thrown in here and there.

We are still in the throes of summer with heat staying from about 103-105:eek: Supposed to start cooling down to 99 or so:rolleyes: But the nights are cooling down some (into the 80's) and it is pitch dark by 8pm. Just a couple weeks ago, we were light until well after 9pm. September is traditionally our hottest month here in Southern CA. I am heading out on vacation a week from today, and will be going to much cooler temps in Northern Utah. I am thrilled about that. I love Fall and Winter, but than we do not get snow or other bad weather. Just the winds where I live and rain and cooler temps. I am itching to decorate for Fall. I have tons of decorations. I leave them up until Thanksgiving, and than I pull out the Christmas decorations. I have even more of those. I put up three trees and they are all theme trees. Can hardly wait:D

We've had a nearly perfect week in Ohio. Lows in the 50's to highs around 80 without a cloud in the sky -- exactly the weather that gives the best foliage. We could use a little rain, but I anticipate some spectacular foliage because of the temperatures.
I usually wait until the Equinox to go all-out for fall, but it seems to want to come earlier this year. So, Sunday, I went apple picking. It was perfect apple weather: Heavy clouds and 70 degrees. I could feel the earth tiring out and wanting to take a nap before going to sleep. Now my crisper drawers are full of Ginger Gold, Cortland, and Gala apples.
My nesting instinct is starting to kick in, but I think I'll be moving soon, so I'm suppressing it. :p
