Hello, I found this forum searching for curtain materials that are bungalowish to go with our 1920s bungalow.
Our house is an unusual 2 full story bungalow, built as a summer house that used to be "country" and now of course is a near suburb of Philadelphia. It had no bathroom or heat when it was built.
We bought it 5 years ago and have slooooowwwwwlllllllyyyyy been fixing it up. I work days and paint and draw pet portraits and do woodcut prints in my spare time, so trying to fit it all in is hard!
The kitchen was "renovated" in the 50s, we still have square windows with wavy glass.
I like a sort of contemporary/vintage blend of decorating. I collect art as well as make it, and am an eclectic collector, so I have some totally cutting edge paintings I've invested in (that have already increased in value, yay!!)and lots of handpulled prints from other printmakers I've bought and other original art. No posters or copies, all good original art. (Now you know why I still work fulltime!!)
I love to see original art every day, I feel that it communicates directly to me from the artist, it's a living thing that didn't exist before and will never exist again. So it's very important to me decorating-wise.
Back to the curtains, what I have are now 5 years old, white with hand stamped borders - am just sick of them and want something that makes more of a statement but still fits with my
Anyway, I am sooo thrilled I found this site and hope I can find some decorating ideas!! Robin
