Not all landlords will allow you to paint the walls, and add or remove fixtures. This doesn’t mean that you cannot decorate your rent house so that it shows your style and feels like home. With a little creativity you will find that you don’t feel limited at all in how you decorate your rent house or flat.

Many rent houses come with white walls and bland floors that you are not allowed to change. Don’t let this discourage you when decorating your new living space. It is easy to draw the eye away from the less than desirable features of the space by choosing furniture that is bold and colourful. The right furniture will really personalize your rent house and make it feel like home no matter how often you find yourself in a new place. It is important to choose your furniture based on the size of the house you will rent. A large overstuffed sofa will make a small room seem smaller while a petit, short backed sofa will get lost in a very large space.

Most rent houses have large blank walls that the homeowner wishes to keep that way. If this is the case do not lose hope. There are some simple ways to convert a nasty white wall into stylish border to the room. A colourful tapestry is an easy way to add lots of colour and texture while small paintings or framed pictures will give a classic and personal touch. If you are very creative you could even create your own wall covering by painting your own canvas.

One of the largest and most often overlooked spaces in a home is the floor. Finding a nice rug to lie in the largest area of your home will add a personal touch to your rent house that will make it feel warm and inviting. Even if the home you are renting has carpet on the floor a nice rug will add colour and style while protecting the existing carpet which can be a pretty expensive fix if ruined.

Now your room is really coming along. You just need that last item to tie everything together and give the room that finished feeling. It is time to choose your window treatments. Curtains are a great way to add texture to the room while complementing the existing colours. Nice heavy curtain can be very functional as well. They can be pulled back to let the sunshine help warm the house in the spring and fall or they can be closed to keep out the heat of the summer and the bitter cold of the winter.

You don’t need to feel limited on how stylish your rent home can be. Sure you have to follow the homeowner’s rules and leave the bland carpet and white walls but with a little creativity you can create a look that will make both you and your landlord happy. And your personal touch can make any rent house can feel like home.

Hi Breezy, :)

Me too! My family visited friends of ours in England. I loved it there. Most all of the homes had gardens, which we call backyards, and they all had flowers and flower boxes. It was lovely. And over there everything is so green.

Have a good day.

Hugs,
Linda :)

Certainly I just want to make place more attractive where I spend my hours to gain the energy. I was always lucky whenever I have shifted to some rented house. I asked their permission to fix the place as per my requirments.

If you do such things which are better for their house than I am sure they wont mind to allow such kind of changes.

According to me it is a great idea to decorate your rent house but some landlords are not allowed to do that but if it is allowed then from my suggestion you should do that because if it is rent house but you are also leaving in it.
