My coffee maker broke! EGADS! I've always had the cheap ones but with my Birthday money a few years ago I bought a $100 one. The day after this Birthday it goes on the fritz! Oh well, I got money again this year so I guess I'll buy a new one. Do you have one you really like?

We really like ours, but I'm not sure what the model is...I can tell you when I get home tonight, though! I also really like a french press or coffee cone for making just one or two cups of coffee. They are also handy to have around when your coffee pot goes out or the power is off.

I don't know how much coffee you need to make each morning but I bought a little Mr. Coffee( 4 cups/2mugs) and it is the fastest little coffee maker. When I stagger in at 5:45 I need to get a cup fast. I usually put my coffee in at night and just add the water in the morning. LOL  I put 5 teaspoons of Community Coffee for 2 mugs. I really mean to WAKE UP!!!!!!
Down here you can stand a spoon up in the coffee...seriously. This is strong coffee country.....really.
I can say that the little coffeee maker is worth the money. I have friends that have the big $150 fancy grinder/brewer and it didn't last any longer than the little one I use.
I mostly like the tiny space it needs on the counter.

I have a Hamilton Beach 12-cup coffee maker. It's the Michael Graves design (for which replacement carafes are not that easy to find, though they are available online) and makes excellent coffee. It was also one of the Consumer Reports best buys. I'm picky about coffee and coffeemakers, and I really like this one (especially the pause 'n serve function). It's programmable, you can take the water well thingy off the back to fill it, and it's never done that overflow-all-over-the-counter thing that my sister's fancy Starbuck's coffeemaker does. Plus I like the blue light behind the LED display. There's also a button you can push to make the coffee stronger.

We've got one of those fancy Starbucks coffee makers but we only use it when we have company. I gave up coffee years ago, but my husband lives for coffee. He has a french press he uses every morning.

I joined the Gevalia coffee club years ago just to get the free coffee maker and then dropped the membership (this is what poor, single mothers do! How do you think I got to be the cheapdiva??!!!). It was a great coffee maker.

I do agree, price has little to do with it.
