Hey all. I'm trying to put something together a fundraiser... we have a little friend in Childrens Hospital and because she's been in there for awhile now it's taken a financial toll on her family. I've taken ALOT of pictures and some good ones (I think) of my garden so I was thinking of making a calendar and selling it - with their permission, of course. The best deal I can find to make my calendars is around $6 so... I was wondering how much you'd be willing to spend, and would you if you knew the family? Or do you have any other ideas for fundraising???

oh Heather, what a lovely thought. My concern would be that you'd have to get to it quick since many folks already have a 2010 calendar. How about note cards or a book of poetry - maybe you could have the child involved by writing some of the poems?
Whatever you do, I'll buy the first one!

I love your photographs. But I agree might be a bit too late for a calendar. I'd do notecards. I know I'd buy some..

Well, after much thought my husband and I agreed that it was too late for calendars and we would have to sell a heck of alot of them to make lotsa money. We went around to the bank yesterday to inquire about opening a trust account so that's what we'll do and I can get the news out on Facebook to their family and friends. Thank you so much for your input though! You all are the greatest!

Glad you were able to set up a trust account! Earlier this year one of my coworkers with a wife and 3 little children died from a brain tumor, and someone set up an account for them. It really helped them out. I still think you should do the notecard idea just to make money for them and get your photos out there, though! And a calendar for next year...

Well, the parents didn't want me to so I'm going to give all the money I collected back. I'm glad I asked them first.

Welll, Heather, it was still a very generous and thoughtful effort on your part. I hope the parents realize that and appreciate the gesture.
