Hope it's OK to post this in the C&B forum. Today when I was at the grocery store and browsing the magazines, my eye was caught by one called "Autumn Cottage," from Hoffman Media. It had heavier paper and almost felt more like a booklet than a magazine (didn't notice the price; I'm sure you pay for the higher-quality paper!).
Anyhoo, they had a myriad of cottage styles -- modern, bungalow, log, southwestern, and more -- and while most of the rooms shown were too cluttered for my taste, the pictures were really pretty and there were so many beautiful things to look at. I may go back and get it.
The main reason it caught my eye is that autumn is my FAVORITE season! I don't know if this is part of a cycle such as Spring Cottage, Summer Cottage, whatever. It's the first time I've ever seen it.
EDIT: Well, slap me with a wet biscuit. It's actually appears to be considered a book/specialty publication. There was indeed a "Summer Cottage." Here's a picture of the Autumn cover:

And, yep, you pay for the heavier paper!

I haven't seen it, but it looks like something I'd enjoy. Most of those special magazines are in the ten dollar range. I recently bought one that was something like "Cottage Style," and it also ran the gamut of styles. But it had lots of pretty pictures, so I went ahead and bought it, and I did enjoy reading it even if it isn't all my personal style. If I run across Autumn Cottage at the store, I expect it'll leap off the shelf and into my basket in spite of my best efforts to resist.

Oh, Shabbychick, you have that problem, too, where things leap off the shelf into your cart? I wondered if I was the only one who has to deal with attacking products. ;)
Btw, when I said in this post or others that something looks "too cluttered for my taste" I only mean as far as how I would like my house to look. I LOVE looking at other people's collections and so forth. I just don't want to have to dust it all! lol

I love those special magazines. I have several (french country, cottage style bungalow style, etc). They are a bit expensive, but do not have all the "filler" the other magazines have, so I feel they are worth it. The pictures alone are just beautiful:) I will have to look for the Autumn one. That is my favorite time of the year also:D

Yes, I thought this one was so pretty that it could be a "coffee table book" for fall. :)

I spotted the magazine (thanks to your mentioning it,
Bungalove) in a grocery store, of all places! Hoffman Media is the same company that brings us "Victoria" Magazine.
I thumbed through it and it was nice, but there was nothing that really called out to me. With the prices of magazines nowadays (and I forgot to look at how much this one cost), I have to force myself to hesitate a bit before buying. With some magazines, I cannot make myself put them back on the shelf. (Anything with "flea market" in the title will usually do it, as will "cottage" in most, although not this one.)

I've only seen it in the grocery store, too, but yes, it's pricey for a mag. Nine dollars, ten? Something like that. It's more of a book though, with a magazine cover, nice heavy paper. (Sheesh, I sound like I work for the company -- I don't!)

HaHa!
I know what you mean about it being more like a book...I bought something similar several years ago - it's called "Cottage Style" by Meredith Corp., and there's no advertising. Somehow, that maga-book (booklike magazine!) seemed to grab me more - lots of white and that's more my particular "speed"...not that there's anything wrong with other styles. ;)

LOL at "maga-book" ! If that's not a word, it should be (and it is now!).

Yes, indeedy, the word "maga-book" has been coined! :)
Speaking of which, I guess I should skip over to the magazine thread...so follow me there, please!

I love those magazines as well. If any of you have them, notice the font for the articles is larger than most other magazines. I love any magazine that has to do with cottages! BTW I bought the Summer issue(Summer Cottage) and prior to that the (Christmas Cottage) 2011. The new Christmas Cottage issue is also out as well. I bought mine at my local Kroger's grocery store. I just bought my mom the Autumn Cottage issue! Some good news is that I called Hoffman media publications, and they offer subscriptions to those issues 4 times a year! Summer Cottage, Autumn Cottage, Christmas Cottage, and I think Spring Cottage. The price the CSR quoted me was $19.95 with free s/h, you can't beat the price because they are very nice quality magazines, and if you buy them in the stores their $10.00. This way you save 50% and the magazine will be delivered right to your door! I am looking forward to receiving my new Christmas issue soon:)
