She kills me. She is amazing. Man, I wish we could clone her and move her here-wouldn't she be the bestest friend to have. I can't wait to show Kirk her talents...make him scared a woman is better than him :)

Thank you for the link, Heather! I love her site~even my hubby has been looking over her plans this morning. He's got a few things on his list to build and he's all for doing it the 'easier' way.

Oh lately I've been getting LOST in blog land. Probably too much. I got up at 3:30 this morning and I'll probably sit here until 6 - jeesh, eh?

Do you limit your 'puter time? I'm starting to feel a bit guilty... but on the other side of that, it doesn't affect my family at all because it's all done before they get up and there's breakfast on the table and clean clothes in their cupboards - you know what I mean?

There are so many creative people out there - I don't know how they manage it: having a blog and families and jobs and friends and a life.

Oh well, I'm just babbling - I have to quietly go downstairs and slap another coat of paint on my buffet/hutch turned tv centre!!!!

Heather, me too! I start looking at one blog and then it becomes addictive. My neck is stiff today because I spent too much time at the computer yesterday. There is just so much talent and beautiful pictures out there....they have definitely taken the place of magazines.

blogging is a sickness I think..but a good one you don't need meds :)

I'm in awe at how much time people must spend on blogging. Plus, they make their blogs look so lovely. How does everyone have such talent? Maybe there is a Blogging 101 book?

I'm with you CT - how do they do it? I tried a couple of years ago but just didn't feel like I had enough time or enough to say (imagine!). So many of these blogs look so professional. Are they hiring someone to do the design?

I do LOVE looking though and have probably 2 dozen decorating ones bookmarked. I used to spend hours in the evenings and weekends looking but I feel guilty . . . like I could use that time doing some of my own projects. I do think once you get a good following though, it must just give you the incentive (and pleasure) to keep doing it.

I think it's about balance - don't let it take over or let other interests suffer. Just my 2 cents.

Exactly what Heather says. Balance. It is hard at first as you are learning as you go and it does take a lot of time. But as you go it is easier. It becomes second nature to snap photographs and such and then linking becomes easier. You have to decide though what kind of blogger are you?
The one that lives for the blog or the one that the blog lives for..
I kinda got a bit confused at first by trying so hard but I have dialed it back to be basically an online diary/journel for me. to remember events, pictures, projects, etc. If they can be linked to parties for others to see then great if not then no biggee as it was ultimately done for me.

Some do a bunch on one day then schedule the posts to go on certain days. Kinda like my mormon friends who dedicated one saturday a month to cook tons of meals to make it easier. You spend alot of time one day getting about 4-5 posts done then they post on their own.

Basically it comes down to learning it so you can move quickly, don't get consumed by it, and by only doing it if you enjoy it.
I already miss Heather's blog..lovely photography on it.

Thanks Tammy. It felt like a popularity contest though - I was just striving for comments and watching the Followers closely. I was going out and commenting on other blogs just so that they would notice and then come look at my blog. It's funny that I was just hoping one of the more popular bloggers would notice me and in the end I guess one did but I had already deleted it. Oh well!

I know that's the way I would feel too, Heather...sort of "pressured", and it shouldn't be that way.

As time marches on, we get to know ourselves better, and some of us just like to read other people's blogs, and admire them! :o

I get it Heather. I really do. One of the popular ladies as you call them. Posted the same thing. She said even though she gets lots of comments she still hurried in to see if any new and then felt such guilt if she could not get to everyone and comment back. She said she did this to chronicle her family life- be it kids, projects and to see what others were doing so she said she is cutting back to maybe 2 posts a week and she removed her comments area all together. She said if anyone has a question on how she did something they can email her but she does not want to worry about the - gratification by others.

I love the picture and as I stated that is what I will miss from your blog - your amazing pictures.
