I was looking at this article on rain gardens today: http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/0,,,00.html

I really like the idea of a garden that keeps pollution out of the waterways but still provides a lovely garden. Have any of you tried making a rain garden yet? I'd be interested to hear what your experiences have been. I'm kind of considering asking for permission to add a rain garden to our community garden area at school. It seems like such a good idea.

I've planted in areas where water tends to runoff during a heavy downpour, mainly for erosion purposes. But, plants seem to thrive there too, especially along a bank, running adjacently to my property. :)
