We have snow and ice. Like Tammy, I'm ready for anything except losing the electricity.
I'm counting on that little groundhog NOT seeing his shadow next week!!

It hasn't started to snow here yet, but it's supposed to get bad later. I have my water, bread, peanut butter, Spam, tuna, and pull tab food that is easy to eat even cold, a wind up radio, oil lamp, wick and oil just in case we lose power again. I learned a lot from the last ice storm we had and hurricane.
Oh, I have blankets and snow shovel ready too.

I'm sorry you're all expecting (or already have) bad weather this weekend. Here in the Northeast we were supposed to get it too, but now it's staying south...good for us, bad for you!
You all sound like you're braced and ready for it, but I hope you don't lose power.

It is here. Kids are loving it. Power is fine - just really cold out.

That is the thing that bothers me most is the thought of the power going out. Now if I still lived with my parents it wouldn't be so bad because they have a fireplace but we're in town and what in the heck would I do?!!! I do have a stove from mountainman rendezvous but where to exhaust the smoke. I keep tossing around the idea of having a small wood burning stove installed in the new family room when it is built.
Crazy thing is that in the 6yrs I've been here I've never been without power. Worrying for nothing. :p

We've been without power for about 4 days after hurricane fran and last year the county south of us was without power for 7 days after a snow/ice storm. I keep telling hubby we need to get rid of this old boiler/gas heater that does the whole house and get a new hvac but then times like this hit and i am happy we have good old gas heat as gas rarely goes out. We need to get some gas logs put in our fireplace so we can have those too.
It is fine here now.
