I have an interview this afternoon for a part time Activities Assistant position. It would be very part time, but will give me experience which is what I am lacking to pursue a ft job in this job choice.

Well, I got the job and it will be every other weekend. Saturday 9 to 4 and Sunday 1 to 4. I am embarassed to say what the pay is....it is minimum wage. I think it is pathetic what these places pay people. I have the Activities Director Certificate, something their current Director does not even have. Ugg. I am looking at it as a way to get experience then I can move on to something better.

I didn't see your post in time to wish you good luck...but I see that wasn't necessary!
CONGRATULATIONS, Marie, on getting the job!
As for the pay, the important things right now are that you've got your foot in the door and this job will give you that all important "experience" that employers are always looking for.
I am very happy for you! :):D;)

Great news, Marie. The pay stinks, but at least you've got the income from your daycare job. This'll definitely give you the experience you need that will allow you negotiate a bit more on the salary issue when you move on to another position. Congratulations! Even part time jobs are hard to come by these days, so you must have given an exceptional interview!

Congratulations Marie:) The pay may not be great, but you will be getting experience, and that will hopefully pay off in the end.
Congrats! Very part-time can lead to bigger things and pay too! I think what you're doing is wonderful!
