It is supposed to get down to 30 tonight. It poured today for quite a while, then the wind picked up and the rain was flying sideways, the wind and rain brought all the leaves down, and now the wind continues to blow with gust of over 40 mph, it is cold, rainy....ugg, the joys of living in NW Ohio.
It very very cold, and windy here today along the Eastern Shore.....brrrrrr

Cold and cloudy here. Of course we think anything below 70 is freezing out here on the West Coast:D Supposed to rain on and off all weekend.
I could live in 70 degree weather all year round- except a cold, snowy day on Christmas!

We were recipients of that "wonderful" :( October storm, and I had lost power from Saturday until Monday afternoon. I was actually one of the lucky ones, as some people were without it for a week!
A tree fell on my son's house (just minor damage to the roof shingles and chimney, thankfully) and even now, there are still loads of limbs and branches at the curbs throughout the town.
So you can imagine that I REALLY enjoyed the two days of near seventy degree weather we had this week! :D
Since I make soap- I usually tuck in a handmade soap to give to a hostess when I go to someone's house. What other gifts are nice to give and receive?
One Thanksgiving I received a beautiful seasonal wreath as a hostess gift. I was really taken with the generosity of this gift and would have never thought to give such a lovely gift....
I don't usually post too much about my shop, but in honor of Veteran's Day we are having an incredible sale today and through the weekend. I just wanted to pass on some holiday savings.

GiGi, I think soaps, especially yours, are wonderful hostess gifts:) I normally bring something that I know the host/hostess likes. I have a friend that loves salsa. So when we go to their home, I bring a bag of gourmet chips and salsa from either Trader Joes or World Market. I have brought picture frames, wine, vintage linens, pot holders, etc. Does not have to be anything big or expensive, just something special and personal that you know they will love. I have a friend that recently got a new camera and is taking pics like mad. I went to Big Lots and got her a gorgeous album for less than 10 bucks. She called me the day after and told me she had already printed out the pics and the album was on her coffee table. What is hysterical is that all my friends know I love Mojitos and vintage linens. I am probably the only hostess who gets a six-pack of Mojitos with a vintage handerchief or doily attached:D
I have been following the storm on the internet and wow you guys have really been hit with some bad weather. Hopefully the rest of the winter will not be as bad. Try and stay warm and toasty.

We had the cars covered with snow this morning and a skiff of snow on the grass. It is too early for this. Very chilly and windy too.
