Received 2 notifications today and didn't open them, but this is what the title said: 02-23-2010 Warning! Next time we will have to complaint to your ISP.

OK, go ahead and complain. Have no idea what they are talking about.

Guys remember if you go into the user cp you can make it so you only receive notifications from friends - I have all of you as friends so I only can get stuff from you all and no spam. Haven't had a problems since I set that.

Same with me, if you aren't my friend you aren't getting past the gate. :D

I need to put that "gate" up- too much spam going through my message box.

It didn't help me a bit - the others were talking about receiving notifications, and I got one today...and I have you all checked off as friends. Go figure...

Okay you can't just have friends clicked..you have to go to the bar above and click on UserCP
then under Settings and Options on the left click on Edit Options
then go to Messaging and Notifications and under Private Messaging you will notice a block that says
You may limit the receipt of private messages to just moderators and your contacts. Other members who attempt to send messages to you will be told that you have disabled private messaging.
Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators

you need to click that box so that only moderators or your friend list can send you pms

does that help? I have not received any spam since I did that and I was recieving quite a bit up till then.

Hi folks.

I added another "human verification" hurdle to the registration process a couple of weeks ago to try to deter automatic registrations.

I'll keep working on it. It's an arms race against the spammers and scammers and, unfortunately, the good guys aren't winning right now.
