Dave had an interview yesterday

For material handler, it would be 2nd shift from 2 to 10, and he would have to leave home at 12:30. Aw shucks. :D He said they seemed concerned of the drive, 55 miles, but it is major highways all the way, and he has always drove a minimum of 20 miles to work, so really not a big deal. The pay was great, about where he left off.

I know he hopes they don't call, because of the hour drive, and I don't blame him in a way, that is a long haul everyday, and the wear and tear on the car, but he can retire in 8 years.....get over it. I am sending a thank you for the interview letter this morning. They said they were interviewing others too, so have no idea what his chances are, other than they said they would let him know either way.

Mac 55 miles a not too too bad. I guess you can never tell when this could roll over into something better. I watched Dr. Phil yesterday ( not my favorite person) and he was giving good advice to a man who had beeen off for 3 years. The guy was an IT person and was holding out for a job that paid what he had been used to . Phil told him to take what he could and that an potential employer would rather hire a person who did what it takes than to hire someone who had held out and did nothing for 3 years. I thought that was resonable.
Good luck Mac I wish you the very best. Hang in there, things are gonna take a turn for the good just wait and see. I tell myself that daily :D

Dave has another interview with a company 3 miles from our house. I emailed his resume at 1:30 and they called at 3:30, he goes Monday. Hoping hoping hoping.

We haven't heard from the place in Ft Wayne, which is 55 miles away, they said they would let him know either way, and that was on Monday.

I think it's a really positive thing that Dave has been asked to go on all these interviews. I know a couple people looking for jobs and they haven't even gotten that far.

So one of these is bound to "stick"! ;)
