“A Songbird Trellis Hits
All the Right Notes”
Expect enchantment when you add this DIY songbird trellis as a sweet focal point to your cottage garden!
If you’re like me, you’re always on the hunt for an extra touch of cottage kitsch and whimsy. And what better way than to add this easy element to do just that? In addition to providing aesthetic charm, the trellis offers an opportunity to bring interest and variation to your landscape, even during the winter season.
The trellis can be tucked up against a shed, embrace an exterior wall, or feature prominently in a large container. Best part; you can complete this little project on a weekend afternoon with just a few items.
Here’s what you’ll need:
* Five 60-inch length wooden garden stakes (3/4” x 3/4”)
* Fifteen 1.5” nails
* Tape measure
* Hammer
* Paint or stain of your choice
* Paintbrush
* Hand saw (an associate at the home improvement store may cut these for you at no cost! Just ask and save a step!)
* Sandpaper (150 grit)
* All-purpose glue
* Two resin birds (source at Amazon, Walmart, craft stores)
