Create a Cozy, Feminine Fall Entryway with DIY Storage Bins
Transform a simple entryway into a warm, welcoming storage
space. These easy DIY bins tuck away autumn layers while adding
a soft, feminine touch
Step 1:
I started with gray wooden
storage bins from a local craft
store. Each bin already had a
chalkboard surface, making it easy
to add labels as needed. I first
primed the bins before painting
them.
Step 2:
Once the bins were primed, I gave
them a cheerful pink finish using paint I
already had in the garage.
I applied two coats of pink paint, allowing
each coat to dry completely before adding
the next.
Step 3:
Using leftover wallpaper I had on hand, I
cut three squares to fit the bin’s three panels. I
glued the wallpaper onto each panel, leaving the
fourth section open as a chalkboard surface for
writing labels.
I used a small paintbrush to touch up any missed
spots, then let the bins dry completely.
Step 4:
To create a cozy fall theme, I labeled the
chalkboard panels Pumpkins, Pinecones, and Mums.
Then I added scented pinecones, painted pink
pumpkins, and burgundy and pink artificial mums
for a warm, welcoming entryway.
I love these bins so much that I can see myself using them in other areas of my home.
