Tune in on your passion.

Ask yourself what you love most. What excites you? Are you fascinated with time? Vintage clocks? Tea? Zero in on your favorite curiosities and pay homage to them. A collection that incorporates all of your favorite things will add a personal touch to your home.

Make it personal.

There’s always a story behind the best of anything—add some meaning to your collection with a story. Maybe your father was a handyman, so now you exclusively collect vintage square nails. Whatever the story is, be sure to make it your own.

Get creative.

Every collection is wonderful, but don’t be afraid to get quirky and collect unconventional items. Fuse several of your favorite things together to get a one-of-a-kind collection. In addition, don’t be afraid to group multiple collections together.

Pick a location.

A great collection should be appreciated, so place it somewhere where it will be seen. Draw attention to your collection by displaying it in a glass cabinet. However, you don’t want to overwhelm guests. The smaller the collection, the more focus it should be given, while the larger the collection should be more spread out and encompass a bigger space.
