We are delighted to present Project House Tennessee, a collaboration with our sister brand, American Farmhouse Style, and the design team of Henry and Brooke Jones of Plank & Pillow. This new build in the hills near Kingsport, TN, will be Henry and Brooke’s “forever” home for their family and we are excited to join them in bringing their vision to life.

The Plank & Pillow Story

Henry and Brooke Jones launched their design journey in 2018 with a simple goal: to share their love of creating beautiful, meaningful homes. What began as a blog, Plank & Pillow, quickly struck a chord with readers who were drawn to their approachable design tips, DIY tutorials, and knack for making a house feel like home. As their online community grew, so did their vision. Today, Henry and Brooke extend their expertise through thoughtfully crafted house plans with each one blending old-world charm with layouts designed for modern living.

Their new endeavor with us, Project House Tennessee, reflects that philosophy in every detail. “When we set out to design this home, we knew we wanted it to feel like it had always been there-timeless, welcoming, and perfectly settled into its surroundings,” they explain. “We didn’t want something overly trendy or stark. We wanted timeless character, rich materials, and thoughtful details that told a story.”

The finished design will be just that: a layered, intentional home that gracefully balances historic inspiration with the functionality of today’s lifestyle.

This home will be a 3-bedroom, 2,700 sq ft cottage-style design, nestled in the hills of Tennessee with a stunning view. It blends timeless character with fresh, clean lines and will feature many custom details.

“Our goal for the living room is to create a space that feels both timeless and fresh. The stone fireplace and oak floors bring cozy cottage warmth, while the fluted built-ins with brass knobs add texture and detail. To balance it all, we plan on using a modern chandelier. We love mixing traditional charm with clean, modern design,” explains Brooke.
