From sunlit rooms to hand-finished textures, every inch of Project House Tennessee is coming together to feel inviting, relaxed, and real.
Exciting progress is underway at Project House Tennessee! While Brooke and Henry of Plank & Pillow are still in the framing stage, the vision for this mountain retreat is already taking shape. “Our goal is to have the home fully under roof before winter weather sets in, and each step brings us closer to that milestone,” says Brooke.

The most magical part of this build is, without question, the breathtaking Tennessee mountain view. “From the moment you walk through the front door, every angle of the home was intentionally designed to frame and celebrate that stunning scenery,” explains Henry.

The interiors reflect a cozy yet open-concept feel, with cased openings that beautifully define each space while maintaining an airy flow between the living room, foyer, and dining room. “We’re layering in natural materials like stone and shiplap to add texture, depth, and warmth that will create a timeless balance of comfort and style that feels right at home in the mountains.”
Behind the scenes, Brooke and Henry are also busy designing the interior details, and we cannot wait to share more updates as the build continues to unfold.

A gorgeous view awaits!

Open Staircase Strategy
Design Tips from Plank & Pillow
When planning an open staircase, think of it as a design feature rather than just a functional element. Keep the lines clean to preserve sightlines and choose materials that complement the rest of your home’s palette. We are using white oak treads paired with slim iron railings for a modern-meets-classic look. An open stairwell also benefits from layered lighting: wall sconces, a statement chandelier, and, if possible, a large window to flood the staircase with natural light.
