Jennifer Marshall has been blogging and sharing easy and budget-friendly projects with her followers for years, and now that her twins have flown the nest for college, she has even more time to dive into projects. In addition, she and her husband just moved into a fixer upper in Denver so the to-do list is happily growing for Jen. Here she shares a simple Flint Corn Wreath to kick off the Autumn season.

Happy FALL, y’all!!! (Well, almost anyway….)  One thing I love to do in the fall is a seasonal DIY project that’s both easy AND budget-friendly.  The one I chose to make this year is a colorful wreath for my front door.  Believe it or not, there are only three materials needed to make this simple wreath!

MATERIALS:

18” straw wreath (purchased at Michael’s)

36 mini flint corn cobs (purchased on Etsy)

Hot glue gun

To begin, I hot glued the back of one flint corn cob and pressed it onto the straw wreath form, with the husks pointing upward.  I then alternated colors, gluing each cob right next to the previous one.

I continued this process until the entire straw wreath was completely covered. (TIP: Having extra glue sticks on hand was key so that when my glue was running low, I could easily replace it.)

All in all, it only took me about twenty minutes to complete the entire project, and it was soooooo easy!  I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!

And the best part is that this DIY is so versatile that you could even use it inside your home.  I love how it looks above my moody mantle in my living room.  In fact, I like it so much that I might end up making an “indoor” wreath too!

I hope you enjoy the start to this FABULOUS season and that you are inspired to create your very own Flint Corn Wreath!
