A Hidden She Shed

  • March 20, 2025
  • Written by Alexis Anderson

When your home is also your workspace it can be challenging to create an aesthetically pleasing balance between the two while making it function optimally. Jenny Williamson, chief creative officer at West Rose Design, found a way to be productive at home while having her own cozy corner to do it from. As a wife and mother of two little humans and a golden retriever, it was a necessity. In two months, Jenny was able to create a room that connects to her master bedroom and features beautiful décor, thriving plants and an exercise area.

The Mallard House

While the terms “family compound” and “new build” don’t always go together, in the case of this North Carolina home, affectionately known as The Mallard House, they do. “They had this acreage in the family for generations and lived in a different home on the property for years while they schemed on this one,” says interior designer Kate Haynes of Noble Studio. With adult children and several grandchildren, Allen and Lorie, who split their time between a few residences, were looking to create a special place for the whole family to enjoy.

  • March 2, 2025
  • Written by Autumn Krause
  • Photographed by Robert Peterson
Once upon a time, an imaginative and quirky couple named Megan and Austin met and fell in love at Dragon-Con, a sci-fi event. They ended up purchasing a 1930s Tudor home together in Georgia’s East Atlanta Village, a neighborhood that’s as quirky as they are and is known for its music scene, coffee shops and unique restaurants. But while the home was in the perfect location and full of history, it simply didn’t fit the couples’ magical personalities.

Spanish Bungalow by the Sea

  • February 9, 2025
  • Written by Victoria Van Vlear
  • Photography and styling by Sunday Hendrickson
Picture this: A 1926 bungalow in a coastal town in California with a charming 1,200 square feet and Spanish-style architecture. But it’s boring and outdated, with dark brown accents and an overall austere air. Two years and a major renovation later, this home now has the charming, oceanside cottage feel Beth loves.
