This tea party-themed bridal shower was a family affair.

Editor’s Note: CB’s longtime content creator, writer and friend Jo-Anne Coletti celebrated her son’s marriage with a beautiful bridal shower, and we just had to share the inspiring ideas with you!

The beautiful future bride and groom, Sara Cobb and Mark Coletti, were the stars of a heartwarming bridal shower inspired by the timeless elegance of tea parties. Their love story, a testament to patience and devotion, blossomed over the years despite the distance: Sara pursuing her dream of becoming an engineer while living away and Mark building his life in Boston. A decade later, their love has only grown stronger, and now they are ready to begin the next chapter of their journey together as Mr. and Mrs. Mark Coletti.

Tea Cake Tiers. The highlight of the treats table was a beautiful three-tiered tea cake made by Katie Carlson of The Fairy Door Bakery in Berkley, Massachusetts. With layers of white and strawberry cake and smooth buttercream frosting, it was as delicious as it was elegant. The cake became the perfect centerpiece, adding to the sweetness of the day and making Sara and Mark’s bridal shower even more special.

The enchanting tea party was held in the serene backyard of Mark’s parents’ home in Massachusetts, a charming setting for such a magical celebration.
Sara grew up having tea parties with her grandmother, always donning full tea attire, so it felt only fitting that she would choose a tea party for her bridal shower, a heartfelt tribute to the special memories they created together.

A Grand Statement. The centerpiece of the day was a stunning floral arrangement, meticulously crafted by Millie Rochon of White Moss and Twigs Floral to create a delicate, ethereal focal point. Whimsical stems of garden roses, Sheffield daisy chrysanthemums, cosmos, dahlias, sweet peas, campanula and clematis intertwined in a delicate dance of color, creating a romantic, almost enchanted atmosphere, perfectly complementing the pale pinks and lavender hues that surrounded it.

The day was simply perfect: a warm, sunlit afternoon, with guests arriving in floral dresses, fancy hats and Victorian fans, creating a charming, Old World atmosphere. The table was a true vision, adorned with soft pastel flowers, flickering candles that bathed the scene in a gentle glow and mismatched vintage china that added a touch of character. An antique lace umbrella added a whimsical touch, completing the intimate, enchanting setting. Guests were delighted by the thoughtful details at each place setting: garden poems delicately torn from vintage books, Victorian-style fans and handmade clay rose stems as napkin holders. Each little detail added a sense of warmth and care, making the day even more special.

Themed Treats. The tea cookies, handmade and decorated by Laura Thompson of Sugar Witch Cookie Company, were charming little masterpieces, beautifully designed to capture the essence of the tea party theme. From dainty teapots to delicate teacups, every cookie was intricately decorated, adding a playful yet elegant touch to the celebration.

The menu was a collection of homemade family traditions, each adding a distinctive touch to the celebration. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with mimosas, elegantly served with fresh floral ice cubes that floated gracefully in the glasses. Soft, romantic melodies from the “Bridgerton” soundtrack and timeless tunes from “Jane Austen” filled the air, setting a refined and tranquil mood. Tea sandwiches, lovingly prepared by Sara’s mother, Gayle, featured classic flavors—cucumber and cream cheese, chicken salad, ham and cheese, and roasted red pepper with pesto aioli—each bite both comforting and delicious. Sara’s sister, Stephanie, baked a selection of scones—cinnamon, blueberry and cranberry orange—served with rich, indulgent clotted cream. These homemade family treats, crafted with care and love, added a deeply personal and memorable touch to the day.

A Rose is a Rose. The color palette of the day was a romantic blend of pale pinks and lavender, creating a serene and dreamy ambiance. Every corner seemed to bloom with the gentle hues, from the delicate floral arrangements to the soft glow of the candles. Each candle holder, handmade from clay by Mark’s mother, Jo-Anne, was a small work of art, with intricate clay roses nestled around their bases.

The air was filled with laughter and heartfelt conversation as family and friends shared stories and played games that celebrated Sara and Mark’s journey together. The warmth and connection between everyone made Sara’s special day even more meaningful, leaving a lasting impression that will be cherished for years to come.
