Your guests have likely traveled quite a distance to gather all in one place, so make sure to add a few welcoming touches in your home before your guests arrive. Depending on where you live, it may be cold out and your guests are probably looking forward to shedding their thick coats and snow-covered boots. Here’s how you can add a warm and cozy touch in your home to welcome friends and family from near or far.

Bedrooms

The winter weather during the Christmas holidays presents the perfect excuse to bring out all of your cozy and warm décor. But not every piece of decoration has to be decked out in vibrant red, white and green. Low-key pieces such as cozy knit blankets, extra cushions or fuzzy rugs can count as festive décor as well, so add some inviting touches to your guest bedrooms. Just a few extra blankets and spare pillows can go a long way and keep your family members warm and happy.

Bathrooms

Although most of the family gatherings will happen in public spaces such as the living room or kitchen, don’t neglect other places around house such as the bathrooms. Make sure you’ve prepared fluffy clean towels for hands, face and bath for each of your guests and clean out often-neglected places like under the sinks.

To avoid any potential embarrassments, also make sure you’ve stocked up on necessarily toiletries. For example, toilet papers, hand soap and feminine hygiene supplies. You could also fill a bowl of festive-smelling soaps and light a seasonally scented candle for an added touch of luxury for your guests.

 Feeling at Home

Another way to show appreciation for your visitors is to put together a festive basket and leave one in each occupied bedroom. Provide them with the Wi-Fi password, mini shampoo and body wash bottles, snacks for late night munching and a locally speciality to enjoy.

These necessities can go a long way with making your guests feel welcome, and they are simple and inexpensive to assemble. Use the basket as a conversation starter upon your visitors’ arrival they will surely appreciate the extra thoughtful touches to make them feel at home.

Get creative and place goodies that show off your personality as well, the holiday season is all about sharing so take this opportunity to share some of your favorite items or treats with your guests.
